Real-money online gaming in the US state of New Jersey generated revenue of $245.6m in 2017, an increase of 24.9 per cent on 2016 revenues.

This follows a year-on-year increase of 12.9 per cent in December, a month that saw revenues climb to $20.8m, figures published by the state’s Division of Gaming Enforcement show.

For the full year, Golden Nugget was the big winner, seeing online gaming win leap 62.3 per cent in the period, to $68.6m, making the site the state’s largest.

Borgata claimed second spot for the year with win of $48.5m – up just 3.2 per cent on 2016 – while Caesars, Resorts and Tropicana each claimed around $43m.

Of that three, Resorts Digital saw the biggest gains, up 35.2 per cent on the year prior.
