Gaming content giant NetEnt has confirmed that it is developing a video slot based on the recent Jumanji film, to be released later this year.

Making the announcement via the company’s social media channels, NetEnt said: “It’s a jungle in there! We are thrilled to announce that we’re developing the Jumanji video slot together with Sony Pictures Consumer Products.”

In a statement, Henrik Fagerlund, chief product officer at NetEnt, said: “Being able to secure a deal for another high-profile title showcases the moves we’re making in diversifying our roster of games.

“The original Jumanji movie, which debuted in 1995, remains a moviegoer favourite and continues to demonstrate its cross-generational appeal more than 20 years later. Also, with the recent release of the new film, the Jumanji brand is more popular than ever. We’re excited for the game launch in 2018,” said Fagerlund.

Visitors to NetEnt’s stand at ICE can get a sneak preview of the game while the developer will also be unveiling another branded slot, as is the company’s tradition, at 3pm on Tuesday, February 6.
