Gaming content developer Yggdrasil Gaming has announced it has signed and finalised a deal with Finnish gaming operator Veikkaus, which will see the provision of its casino games content.

The deal alongside the country’s only regulated gambling operator, will see Veikkaus take Yggdrasil’s full portfolio of casino slot titles, including the latest releases Penguin City, Hanzo’s Dojo and Wolf Hunters.

Yggdrasil’s suite of video slots also comes complete with its range of in-game promotional tools, amongst which is Boost.

This allows for promotions to be run from within the game client, offering maximum cross-sell opportunities and “superior player experience” by using in-game tournaments and leaderboards, configurable cash races and gamification features to boost retention and engagement.

Fredrik Elmqvist, chief executive officer at Yggdrasil, stated: “We are thrilled to join forces with such a professional and established business as Veikkaus, and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”

Veikkaus, who boasts in excess of two million customers and is also a member of the World Lottery Association, achieved an annual turnover of €3.2bn in 2017, with its gaming service www.veikkaus.fi attracting around 700,000 players every week.

Jan Hagelberg, vice president of casino games at Veikkaus, added: “We are happy to join with the Yggdrasil team to bring its unique and innovative games to our loyal players.

“Yggdrasil casino content is proven to perform well across regulated markets, and we are confident our players will enjoy them on a regular basis.”

This continues a busy period for Yggdrasil, which saw the firm secure two key deals as it continued its expansion across Europe, and Scandinavia in particular.

The duo of agreements, made alongside leading Swedish operator Svenska Spel and with horse racing operator ATG, sees the deals come in anticipation of the country introducing a new regulatory framework on January 1, 2019.
