In a week where slots took centre stage in the SBC Digital Innovation – Casino event, the industry has continued to push out releases. Our weekly slot round-up features a tale of cats versus dogs from Armadillo Studios, Playson’s electrifying extravaganza and a fiesta-fuelled title from PG Soft

Paws and Claws: A Tail of Fortune – Armadillo Studios

Both cat and dog lovers will enjoy the latest title from Armadillo Studios’ latest slot, presenting a six reel slot with a row set-up of 2-3-4-4-3-2, offering 576 ways to win and a maximum win of up to x10,010 the player’s bet. The slot is highly volatile with an RTP range of 94-96 per cent.

David Stoveld, COO of Armadillo Studios, commented: “Paws and Claws is a thrilling blend of excitement and adventure, offering players an immersive gaming experience like never before. With its innovative features and captivating gameplay, catching the tail of fortune has never been easier.”

Throughout the game, wins can be formed from both left-to-right and right-to-left, increasing the game’s win potential significantly.

Free spins cat paw scatters can also appear, awarding 15, 30, 50 or 100 free spins when three, four, five or six scatters land on the same spin, respectively.

Wild cat food symbols are available on reels two, three, four and five, substituting for all symbols other than free spins scatters.

Mystery question mark symbols can also appear in stacks, revealing either identical symbols or special coins that trigger the mystery coin feature when revealed.

When a coin symbol is revealed by a mystery symbol, the mystery coin feature is activated. This causes all mystery symbols in the stack to reveal prize coins that offer instant wins ranging from x1 to x1,000 the player’s stake.

Additionally, instead of a coin symbol, the mystery coin feature can cause a collect symbol to appear, which will collect all other coins that have been revealed before allowing the spaces with those collected coins to reveal a new coin symbol.

This collect feature can only occur once during the mystery coin feature.

In the free spins game mode, the reels increase to have a row set-up of 3-4-5-5-4-3, allowing for up to 3,600 ways to win. Mystery symbols are also much more likely to appear during the free spins.

Furthermore, when the mystery coin feature is triggered during the free spins game mode, the mystery symbols can reveal extra free spins symbols that will increase the free spins counter by either one, two or five.

Energy Joker: Hold and Win – Playson

Playson has further extended its flagship Hold and Win series with a jesting slot release that offers a 5×3 reel grid with five-paylines and a grand jackpot prize of x5,000 the player’s stake.

Tamas Kusztos, CCO at Playson, explained: “We have a well-established reputation for delivering high-energy slots with unrivalled graphics and animations. With Energy Joker: Hold and Win, we take this to a new level.

“The electrifying lightning, abundant coin imagery and iconic Joker offer a new level of gaming experience, while features such as in-play jackpots and Multipliers create the chance to achieve impressive wins.”

Gold and blue energy coins can drop into play, triggering the hold-and-win game mode if a combination of six or more coins appears on the same turn. Gold coins will appear with monetary prizes, ranging from x1 to x10 the chosen bet.

Additionally, joker wild symbols are available, substituting for all symbols other than gold and blue energy coins.

In the hold-and-win game mode, players are given three spins to land as many coin prizes on the reels as possible. Each coin that drops in will reset the number of spins to three, prolonging the feature.

While gold coins drop in to apply their prize values once the feature draws to a close, the blue energy coins enhance the feature in a different way.

When dropping into play, energy coins will collect the values of all other coins on the reel set, including other blue energy coins.

Gold coins can also drop in, displaying jackpot values that can also be collected by the energy coins. These jackpot prizes include mini (x25), minor (x50) and major (x150).

Meanwhile, landing a full board of 15 coins will award the game’s grand jackpot prize of x1,000.

Joker wild symbols can appear in this game mode, but will not stay sticky in their positions as the coin symbols do. These joker symbols cause multipliers to appear in the cells they drop into, which will enhance any coins that then drop into those cells on subsequent spins.

Available multipliers include x2, x3, x4, x5 and x10, and several multipliers can drop into the same cell during the feature. With the game’s ‘pile of gold’ feature, any coin that appears throughout the base game can randomly trigger the bonus feature.

Piñata Wins – PG Soft

PG Soft is appealing to Latin American audiences with its latest stick-swinging slot, presenting a 5×3 reel board with 20-paylines and a maximum win of up to x5,000 the player’s wager. The slot has medium volatility with a 96.75 per cent RTP.

A representative from PG Soft commented: “Colourful Piñatas are a symbol of pure joy and our studio has encapsulated that feeling perfectly in our Piñata Wins game. This entertaining game promises plenty on the reels for players looking to strike it rich.”

Cascading wins occur in this title, causing symbols in a winning combination to disappear after providing their payout, making way for new symbols to drop in from the top of the reels.

Throughout the game, standard symbols on reels two, three and four can appear with golden frames. If cascading wins occur using these symbols, they will leave a wild symbol in their place when disappearing from the board.

These frames can also appear with multipliers between x2 and x100 the player’s wager. When these framed symbols contribute to a win, their multipliers will be collected and then applied to the total win amount once that spin comes to an end.

During the free spins, these multipliers will not reset in between spins, increasing the win potential significantly.

Barnyard Megahays Megaways – Pragmatic Play

Pragmatic Play is preparing for harvest with its latest farmyard-themed slot, a six-reel title with between two and seven rows, offering 117,649 ways to win and a max win of x10,000 the player’s bet. The slot has high volatility with an RTP of 96.5 per cent.

Two special symbols are available in this title, with hay bales able to drop into play. However, these hay bales will always appear boarded up. These boarded up symbols can only be broken into if a special ‘collect’ tornado symbol appears on the same spin.

Once having been broken free, the hay bales can award random prizes, with instant wins of x1 to x100 the player’s bet, wild symbols, wilds with multipliers, free respins, the maximum win of x10,000 or access to the free spins game mode all available.

Cascading wins occur throughout this game, meaning that winning symbols will disappear after providing their payout prizes, making way for new symbols to drop in from the top of the reels.

Any hay bale bonus symbols that end up contributing to winning combinations will not take part in any cascades, staying on the board until the spin has finished.

If one or two free spins hay bales have been revealed by tornado symbols, then 10 or 20 free spins will be awarded, respectively.

During these free spins, all hay bales will immediately reveal their prizes, with tornado symbols no longer being needed to reveal them.
