Craig Davies

Position: Editor

Craig Davies is a writing enthusiast who joined SBC in September 2017, following years spent in the news and sport sectors of Journalism, in addition to a significant period of time travelling.

During his time at the University of Central Lancashire, Craig grasped every opportunity he could to gain experience writing on sports. Culminating in a year spent working for The Lancashire Telegraph at Blackburn Rovers during the, then Premier League side’s, 2009/10 season.

Upon graduating with a degree in Sports Journalism, he began working for the Tameside Reporter, a regional title, where his primary duty was news, however, it quickly turned into something of a joint role with sports incorporated into the mix.

After the newspaper entered administration Craig began doing freelance work for a number of websites in several different fields, before donning a backpack for a two year stay in Australia and South Eastern Asia. Short story writing as he ambled from place to place.


James Ross

Position: Senior Journalist

James Graduated from Salford University in 2019 where he undertook a Masters degree in Broadcast Journalism. After various work experience and volunteering roles James got his first role as a writer for Disability Sport Online writing articles regarding various sporting events and features with para-athletes. He joined SBC in February 2020. Hobbies include computer gaming, football, boxing and he is a self confessed film fanatic.


Rasmus Sojmark

Position: CEO & Founder

Rasmus has 15 years industry experience, with an early career start as commercial director of BetBrain.com, and founding team member of EveryMatrix. In 2009 he founded SBC Global (a highly successful events, news and media business) and Oddslife.com (a b2b social sportsbook platform).

He holds a University Masters Degree in International Marketing, with a dissertation that researched and analysed both online and land based sports betting behaviour. His work was later presented and published in academic books at Aalborg University.

While at EveryMatrix he won EGR Awards for Best Sportsbook Innovation 2010, Sports Betting Rising Star 2011 and special commendation for White Label Partner of the Year 2011. In 2008 and 2009 he won back-to-back IGB Awards for Best Sports Betting Affiliate and the Best Overall Affiliate with BetBrain.com.


Andrew McCarron

Position: Managing Director

Andrew McCarron started in the gambling industry with a weekend job in a bookies and began writing about it in 1998. He hasn’t stopped since. After roles at Coinslot International, Coinslot Review & Euroslot Worldwide, he was the first editor of Betting Business when it launched in 2004. Ten years later he joined SBC as MD where he helped launch the new look SBC News and the betting focused trade show Betting on Football. He’s been keeping busy since.


Conall McCabe

Position: Sales Director

Conall McCabe has been involved in the Sales and Commercial sector for all of his working life. Upon leaving University with a Marketing degree, Conall worked in the charity Fundraising sector, which culminated in him running the entire F2F British Red Cross Fundraising operations across their Manchester and Leeds offices. He was also responsible for heading up sales and launching various brands in the diversity and equality industry at an organisation called Diversiton. He joined SBC in January 2016. He is passionate about the Betting and Gaming industry, and has a strong fondness for watching football, playing poker, and enjoying the social side of events.


Alyona Gromova

Position: Eastern European Head of Sales

Alyona Gromova after she finished the National Technical University of Ukraine, she worked for a short time in a land-based casino. Then, she undertook marketing roles in the food & beverage field for several years. She has an excellent knowledge of the Ukrainian, as well as the rest of the Eastern Europe markets. She has been working for Oddslife since January 2015 and from January 2017 she joined SBC, and she is responsible for all the Eastern European markets.

 


Dennis Algreen

Position: Head of Marketing

After finishing a Masters degree in International Marketing in Denmark in 2007, I got into sales, account management and digital marketing of websites and other digital solutions. Joined the SBC Global team in Sept 2016 and very much enjoying being a part of the continued growth of this exciting company in a challenging environment.


Bettina Sojmark

Position: Senior Creative Artworker

Bettina Sojmark, Senior Creative Artworker since 2002. Lives in London. Worked in advertising in Denmark for 5 years before coming to London in 2007. Worked for the Folio Society for 3 years before moving on to TAG in 2010. Worked as Brand Guardian on the H&M account for 5 years. In 2015 she started working for Oliver Marketing on the Starbucks account and stayed for 2 years. She has been working for SBC since January 2017.


Paul Mills

Position: Event Director

Shortly after the 2002 World Cup Paul started his career in events and gaming with ATE working as part of the sales team on ATEI, ICE, EIG and the Betting Show. When Clarion Events acquired ATE, he moved into the operations department where he worked across the company’s wider portfolio of events and headed up the Trade Operations Team. Throughout this time, he still was involved with the gaming department managing the operations and logistics across all the gaming events. Latterly he was responsible for creating and leading the Totally Gaming Academy.

In July 2017 Paul joined SBC to head up SBC’s events team.


Charlotte Cowdrey

Position: Head of Events

Charlotte has worked in the trade events industry for over 10 years within various industries organising conferences, exhibitions and awards. Charlotte worked for the gaming division at Clarion Events for 7 years looking after the Special Events, VIPs and regulators to name but a few. In October 2017 Charlotte joined the SBC team as Head of Events.
