Malta-based online gaming content developer Betsoft Gaming brought the German public face-to-face with “fearsome reanimated mummies and scuttling scarab beetles,” as part of the latest instalment of its promotional campaign for the upcoming Max Quest: Wrath of Ra game.
Set for release next month, Betsoft states the new title is to be “the dawn of an entirely new kind of RNG gaming,” blending the best of console and casino gaming.
The role-playing action adventure game, “transplants the excitement of RNG-based slot gaming into a multiplayer interactive shooting experience,” uniting six players as they take to subterranean maze in search of undiscovered treasure, fighting back hordes of the sun god’s supernatural enemies, and tackling enemies to earn XP and enter regular leader-board contests.
Installing a magic mirror in the main plaza of Berlin’s Alexa Centre as part of the latest stage of its campaign, the interactive augmented reality installation encouraged members of the public to enter a life-sized virtual version of one of Max Quest’s treasure-laden rooms.
Detailing the latest step of its promotional experience, Betsoft states: “Participants stood in front of a large screen, which used a live video feed of the plaza, overlaid with game elements, to deliver an immersive experience.
“Shoppers’ reactions and interactions with the Magic Mirror were captured. Players then scored points by stamping on AR scarabs that scurried underfoot, collecting scattered treasure and battling life-sized mummies, who seemed to appear from the ground beside them.
“Other elements were also superimposed, including tomb walls, statues and sarcophagi, that transported players to a world of action and adventure beneath the sands.”
