bacta has launched the Social Responsibility Exchange to help the industry’s consumer-facing staff share ‘practical guidance on how to deliver a safer gambling experience’.

As part of a new commitment by the trade association for UK amusement and gaming machine industries, the SR Exchange will focus on sharing knowledge and providing training on safer gambling engagements and interventions with customers at UK venues.

With the theme of ‘Real People: Real Insights’, the open forum will draw on the lived experiences of individuals working in the land-based sector, providing attendees with a chance to share their experiences of engaging with machine players.

The first SR Exchange will take place in Birmingham on October 31.

“We are very aware of the need to complement the academic work on safer gambling,” commented John White, Chief Executive of bacta.

“To meet this need the SR Exchange provides ‘Real Insights delivered by Real People’ and has been designed to provide those attending with a tool kit of practical measures that they can share with colleagues and continue the industry’s outstanding commitment to safer gambling.”

The SR Exchange will be the first of four bacta initiatives that will demonstrate the commitment by the association’s members to delivering ‘safe, responsible and enjoyable’ gambling entertainment within their venues.
