LeoVegas expands in Germany with World of Sportsbetting deal

Mobile betting and gaming operator LeoVegas has completed the acquisition of World of Sportsbetting for a cash total of €2.6m, boosting LeoVegas’ profile in the German market.

The Malta-based World of Sportsbetting holds both a sports betting and a casino licence in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein and has an approved application for a sports betting licence in the state of Hesse.

An “approved application” for a sports betting licence means a company can market sports betting throughout the country.

The licences give LeoVegas improved visibility and legitimacy in Germany and access to payment solutions that are important in the market.
