Frightening festivities are just around the corner so prepare for the Halloween holiday by checking out our selection of the industry’s latest slot titles. This week’s round up includes Wizard Games’ vampire-ridden treasure trove, Mariachi madness from Hölle Games and Light & Wonder’s chocolate factory tour.
Treasures of the Count – Wizard Games
Launching us into our Halloween slot roundup is Wizard Games, which presented a 5×4 reel slot with 40-paylines and a maximum win of up to x2,919 the player’s bet in its latest title. This game has low volatility with an RTP range of 88.08, 94.08 and 96.06 per cent
Benedict McDonagh, Managing Director at Wizard Games, stated: “We’re really excited to be putting in front of players what we believe is a very strong, seasonal slot experience. Treasures of the Count is packed with features and various chances to win.
“The attention to detail in the presentation of this title also stands out. We are keen to see how our partners and their players all over the world react to a game our development team is rightly proud of.”
Scatter moons can appear, triggering the Count Respins feature if three or more land on the same turn.
In the Count Respins feature, the triggering scatters transform into cash pot symbols on an empty reel set where only cash pot symbols and jackpot symbols can appear.
Jackpot symbols represent enhanced prizes with variants of mini (x20), minor (x50), major (x150) or grand (x2,500).
Players are given three spins, while every symbol that appears resets the number of spins to three. At the end of the feature, all cash pot and jackpot symbols on the board will be awarded to the player.
Cash pot symbols are also available, displaying multiplied bet amount values that will be collected if a special Count Dracula symbol appears on the same spin. These Dracula symbols can only appear on the fifth reel.
In addition to offering multiplied bet amount prizes, the cash pot symbols will be attributed to a meter above the reel set, which activates the Count’s Treasure feature once a certain number of cashpots have been collected across all spins.
Furthermore, wild pumpkins are included, substituting for all low and high value symbols. Landing three, four or five wilds on a winning payline will offer x15, x25 or 60 the chosen stake, respectively.
When the Count’s Treasure feature is activated once a certain number of cashpot symbols have been attributed to the meter in the base game, players can win one of the four jackpot prizes by selecting one of four doors with hidden prizes behind them.
Dancing Dead – Amusnet
With Day of the Dead celebrations set to take place not long after Halloween, Amusnet’s latest slot release appeals to Latin America audiences by featuring its festivities. This slot uses a 5×3 reel grid with 20-paylines and a maximum win of up to x600 the player’s stake, while having low volatility and an RTP of 96.46 per cent.
In the pick me bonus game mode, players are presented with two dancing skeletons to pick from per round. These skeletons can either reveal prizes ranging from x1 to x50 the player’s bet, or a collect function that returns players to the base game.
Players will hope to run through as many game rounds as possible before selecting the ‘collect’ skeleton to win as many cash prizes as possible. A total of 11 skeletons are available across the total number of bonus game rounds.
The jackpot cards game mode is also available, triggered randomly after any winning spin in the base game.
For this jackpot feature, players are shown 12 hidden playing cards. Four progressive jackpot prizes are available, represented by the four playing card suits.
Players will select from these 12 cards until they have chosen three cards of the same suit, receiving the respective jackpot prize offered by that suit.
Additionally, on any win lower than x35 their stake, players can gamble their payout with a double-or-nothing jackpot card feature.
With this gamble, players must guess whether the jackpot card will land as red or black, doubling their winning bet if they guess correctly.
Willy Wonka: World of Wonka – Light & Wonder
Oompa loompas, chocolate rivers and never-ending gobstoppers feature in Light & Wonder’s latest slot, using IP from the 1971 movie Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. This title uses a 6×4 reel board with 25-paylines and an RTP of 96 per cent.
Rob Procter, VP Game Development at Light & Wonder, commented: “Willy Wonka: World of Wonka is a casino-floor favourite that has achieved legendary status in the US and beyond. Our in-house teams have done a fantastic job packing this new digital version with all the fun of the original.
“It’s a hugely exciting moment to be able to deliver a Wonka experience to our operator partners in the UK and Europe and we are sure their players will respond very positively.
“The launch is also very significant in presenting our omni-channel vision and we look forward to delivering more games from the franchise in the months ahead.”
Throughout the game, an special Oompa Loompa feature can be triggered randomly, causing the reels to increase in size to either 8×4 or 10×4 while increasing the number of paylines.
This will cause the grid’s payline grids to be split into either two 4×4 or 5×4 grids to allow for easier payline wins, with all payouts being multiplied by x2. Wilds are guaranteed to drop into play, appearing expanded across full reels.
When triggering the spinning wheel feature, landing four, five or six scatters will also trigger one spin of the reel but will also provide an instant payout of x10, x20 or x50 the total bet.
Through spinning the wheel, players can win either multiplied bet amount prizes from x5 to x80 or access to the free spins, chocolate river and ‘you get nothing’ game modes.
The wheel can award either eight, 10 or 12 free spins, and in these spins the reels will expand in size while 2×2-sized Willy Wonka symbols can drop into play.
In the chocolate river game mode, players are presented with eight cupcakes that hold hidden prizes behind them. Players can get up to seven prizes in the feature, each ranging from x1 to x20 their stake. The feature ends once players select a ‘fall in’ cupcake.
If players manage to gain all seven picks without finding the ending cupcake, their wins will be multiplayer by a random value between x2 and x10.
For the ‘you get nothing’ feature, players are presented with three hidden prizes and get one pick to win a multiplied bet amount value between x100 and x400 the player’s wager.
Additionally, after each awarded spinning wheel feature, players will enter the golden ticket game mode, in which they are awarded a chocolate bar that contains prizes from x1 to x10 the player’s bet, nothing or the golden ticket prize worth x500.
Los Mariachis Muertos – Hölle Games
Another supplier to celebrate the upcoming Day of the Dead holiday with its latest slot was Hölle Games, presenting a 5×3 reel slot with 20-paylines and a maximum win of up to x5,000 the player’s bet. While having an RTP of 95.38 per cent, the game has high volatility.
Guitar scatters can drop into play on reels one, three and five, awarding 10 free spins when three appear on the same spin together.
Additionally, maraca wilds are available on reels two, three, four and five, substitution for all symbols other than the free spins scatters.
During the free spins, all wins that are formed will award free respins, which don’t affect the free spins counter.
In the free respins, the symbols in a winning combination will stay sticky on the reel set while the rest of the board spins. Any symbols that then drop in to add to the sticky payline win will cause another free respin, with this repeating until no contributing symbols drop in.
Special skull scatters can appear on any reels during the free spins, awarding instant prizes when a certain number of skulls land on the same spin, including in the respins.
Landing between one and seven, or more, skull scatters will award instant payouts between x3 and x5,000 the player’s preferred wager.
Rooster Mobs – Stakelogic
Fedora-wearing feathered mobsters terrorise the reel set in Stakelogic’s latest slot release, showcasing a five-reel board with a row set-up of 3-4-4-4-3, using 576-payways and offering a maximum win of x10,000 the player’s bet. The game is highly volatile with an RTP of 96 per cent.
Jose Simon Kadala, Head of Account Management at Stakelogic, said:: “Do you think you’ve got what it takes to challenge the mob? We had so much fun with the creation of Rooster Mobs, and we are positive players are going to enjoy it just as much.
“Visually, it’s one of our most creative slots, and the use of modifiers and the gamble wheel helps to put a spin on the typical free spins bonus. We can’t wait to let it loose and see how players are going to react.”
Free spins shootout scatters are available on reels two, three and four, triggering eight free spins if three land on the same spin. Each time just one or two scatters appear on the reels, they will transform into wild symbols.
The second, third and fourth reel all have their own individual reel modifier wild symbols that can drop into play, represented by red, blue and purple background colours with rooster gangsters in front. As wilds, these symbols substitute for all symbols other than the scatters.
When these reel modifiers land on the reels, they will expand to cover their full columns before enhancing the game player with their own special features. In the second reel, the red rooster will double all payways before awarding another respin for the feature to be repeated once.
In the third reel, the blue rooster collects all values from any mystery symbols that have appeared across the board, with at least one always guaranteed to land on the same spin. These mystery symbols will reveal monetary values that can only be collected by the third reel’s modifier.
The purple rooster that can appear in the fourth reel causes a random number of winning symbols on the same spin to split into two, paying twice on the same payways combinations.
In addition, standard wild W symbols can drop into play, substituting for all symbols other than the free spins scatters.
When the free spins game mode begins, a win multiplier of x1 is displayed. This multiplier increases by a value of one each time a reel modifier wild drops into play.
Throughout the bonus feature, landing one or two scatter symbols on the same spin will award one or two extra spins respectively.
Players can also use a gamble wheel before the feature begins, aiming to land a wheel marker in a green zone to go from eight spins to 12. This can then be repeated to gain 16 spins, but losing either of those gambles will return players to the base game empty-handed.
