In the latest edition of Dream Spins’ ‘The Journey’ podcast, 4ThePlayer’s Co-Founder, Henry McLean, joined the show to discuss how players are drawn to familiar themes.

Joining Josh Green and Will Barnes, the trio also outlined the challenges of the balance between satisfying what the operator desires within a game and what a player likes to see.

As the market becomes increasingly challenging they analysed how firms can stand out in a competitive and often tricky commercial environment.

McLean emphasised his foremost focus on giving each game the justice it deserves, which would mean remaining a boutique studio in spite of having ability to scale up.

He revealed that the company spends a significant amount of time talking to all corners of the industry as they look to gain a deeper understanding of the games and what is working, something that is only possible if they focus on quality over quantity.

The Dream Spin duo echoed the sentiment that they will continue to be boutique and put ‘real love’ into their games.

Nonetheless, this is only half the battle as the group detailed the vital avenues that are explored through distribution.

McLean shared insight on why distribution avenues being effective and fruitful are so crucial as the supplier looks to find maximum reach for its games.
