bwin puts World Cup star at the forefront of Poker promotion

bwin has launched the Hazard Series, an all new poker tournament line-up featuring bwin’s brand ambassador, Belgium World Cup phenomenon, Eden Hazard.

The headline event will offer nine players the incredible opportunity to qualify to sit down in the flesh with Eden and take him on for a £10k prize pool.

Adam Lewis, Chief Marketing Officer at bwin commented: “We wanted to reinvigorate bwin’s poker offer and with the Hazard Series we have done just that. Eden is quite simply world class and we think we have built a new series that does him justice. It is a great pleasure that, at the same time, we can help support One Drop and the incredible work they do to improve the lives of some of the poorest people in our global community.”

Qualification for the ‘Play with Eden’ event is completely free, via weekly Sunday night freeroll tournaments up until 9 September. And what’s more, bwin is also donating €1 for every player that enters a freeroll to our charity partner One Drop, the charity that works in countries around the world, to provide life-changing access to safe water and sanitation. To kick off the campaign, bwin is guaranteeing One Drop a minimum of €50,000, building up to a possible maximum of €200,000, depending on the number of entrants.

Commenting on the launch, Eden Hazard stated: “I’m excited to be launching the Hazard Series with bwin. I really enjoy Poker and the unique psychological challenge it offers me. More importantly, it’s great that through the Hazard Series bwin will be supporting such a vital charity as One Drop. Let’s play together and change the game.”

Alexandre Meunier, Senior Director of Special Initiatives of One Drop, added:“We are delighted that bwin is supporting our mission to provide safe water and sanitation to the most vulnerable communities around the world. Partnering with an international organization such as bwin will bring much needed funds to the sector and will help raise awareness around the global water and sanitation crisis. Once again the poker community shows its commitment towards achieving universal and equitable access to safe water for all by 2030.”

Through the Hazard Series players can also win a place to represent Eden on Team Hazard at the UK Millions. Regular tournament buy-ins start at £1 to win a £5,300 seat at the UK Millions main event, featuring a guaranteed prize pool of £5 million.
