Uncasville, Connecticut headquartered Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment has completed its “executive leadership team build out,” as the organisation confirms two senior appointments to support its “growing and dynamic brand”.
Joining the firm are Michael Silberling as senior vice president and chief operating officer and Tom Smock as senior vice president and general counsel, with both set to imminently take up the roles and MGE enters a new fiscal year.
The firm states that its core executive team has “purposely been developing over the last 12 months,” with a long-term emphasises as “becoming a worldwide industry leader in integrated entertainment resort development and management”.
Mario Kontomerkos, chief executive officer of Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment, explained: “The background and experience Michael Silberling and Tom Smock bring to their new roles, is directly aligned with Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment’s goal to become the premier global gaming and entertainment resort developer and operator.

Silberling is to officially take up the reigns of his new position on October 8, brings over 30 years of experience across US and international integrated resorts, having also served as CEO of Affinity Gaming, president of international operations for Caesars Entertainment and managing director for London Clubs International.
Smock officially joined on October 1 to lead MGE’s legal and compliance functions, and comes with in excess of 20 years of experience as an executive and in-house general counsel at various casino gaming companies, such as Aristocrat Technologies and Penn National Gaming, with significant experience in Macau, China and South America.
