Northern California’s newest casino property has held its official grand opening, as the $168m Harrah’s branded entity staged a firework and drone light show in its Amador County home.

Harrah’s Northern California, the region’s only Caesars Rewards affiliated casino, sees guests, who gathered from around the area, earn credits that can be redeemed across the network’s more than 40 casino-resorts worldwide.

Gathering outside the property, those in attendance witnessed 300 Intel Shooting Stars perform the highlight of the grand opening, designed solely for entertainment purposes and capable of creating more than four billion colour combinations to light up the sky.

Accompanied by a 3D projection mapping of the casino exterior, each depicted imagery associated with the County, before moving on to showcase card suites and dice to commemorate Harrah’s gaming history, with a pyrotechnic display concluding the event.

Falling under the Caesars banner, before commencing development the firm entered into agreement with the Buena Vista Gaming Authority, an entity of the Buena Vista Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians of California, to expand into a new market with the 17th Harrah’s branded venue.

“This weekend was as much a celebration of opening as it was a ‘thank you’ to the local community and our guests, who have been so supportive of the development,” commented Buena Vista Rancheria Chairwoman Rhonda Pope-Flores.

“The Buena Vista Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians have a long history of hospitality, and this weekend was just the start of many celebrations we plan to bring to the community.”

Since tentatively welcoming guests at the end of last month with a soft opening, Harrah’s Northern California states that it has welcomed a steady stream of guests and players eager to be among the first to place bets in the casino, and explore the new entertainment destination.

The 71,000 square foot property, which broke ground in March 2018, located in the city of Ione in Amador County, 32 miles southeast of The Golden State’s capital city of Sacramento, houses 950 slot machines, 20 game tables, one full-service restaurant and three fast-casual dining concepts.

At the time of hosting its soft opening, the company stressed that $20m will have been gifted to the local community for a number of improvements and projects by the time of its larger festivities, with 500 new jobs also expected to be created as a result of the construction.
