Scientific Games has made moves to strengthen its digital business unit after confirming the appointment of Cathryn Lai as SVP and general manager for the US market.
Lai, who brings a wealth of experience within the industry across product management, marketing, brand management, operations, and process improvement, took up occupancy of the role on Monday 19 October.
Previously she served as senior vice president of products, markets and gaming operations at the firm for a two-year period, before which Lai occupied the role of vice president of products and strategy.
Discussing the promotion, Lai explained: “I’m delighted to be joining the digital team at Scientific Games. As a team, we have significant momentum across igaming and sports betting.
“I am hugely excited about the opportunity to work with all of our customers and teams across the US to strengthen our relationships and further showcase the power of SG Digital’s technology and services.”
Scientific Games says that Lai is to be heavily involved in SG Digital’s US operations, which have experienced significant growth following several new commercial partnerships across the division’s igaming and sports betting product areas.
Making the appointment to meet the growing demands of its ever-expanding customer base in the US, the company anticipates further growth in the coming months as strong interest in its products from operators continues to drive ongoing momentum.
Jordan Levin, group CEO at Scientific Games Digital, commented: “Cathryn’s talent and expertise is well known to Scientific Games already and we’re excited to have her on board with SG Digital.
“Demand across the US continues at pace following major 2020 commercial deals with Fanduel, Draftkings, Hard Rock, Wynn, Betfred, NetEnt and Betsson among others. Cathryn’s industry knowledge and experience will be highly valuable to our customers as we continue to design and deploy our market-leading solutions across the US.”
