Maverick Gaming hails ‘next step’ as it opens new Nevada property

North American-based regional casino operator Maverick Gaming has opened its new property in Nevada – Maverick Casino and Hotel Elko

Hailing its new hospitality brand as the “first phase” in the company’s strategy to “redevelop and connect” its properties across its regional footprint, the multi-year plan is to upgrade the physical infrastructure, improve the overall gaming, guest experience, and rebrand as either Maverick Casino & Hotel, Ace’s Poker, Dragon Tiger Casino, or Macau Legend.

“This is an important step for Maverick Gaming as we continue to grow and invest in our portfolio of properties,” said Eric Persson, chief executive officer and majority owner of Maverick Gaming. “Our plan has always been to consolidate our assets under our four key brands and unite them under Play Maverick Loyalty and Sports programmes.

“This is the next step in our evolution as we continue building Maverick Gaming as a best-in-class regional operator and, today, we are excited to introduce this new, unique experience to our friends in Elko.”

Maverick Casino and Hotel will feature a History Wall with remnants of old signage, photos, gaming chips, and other nostalgic items. The property debuted with over $2m in renovations including 2,000 ft of custom color changing lighting on the exterior, a 24-foot monument sign along Idaho Street with LED display and an eight-foot, only in Elko, larger-than-life boot art installment paying tribute to the Elko famous Centennial Boot Project.

Based in Kirkland, Washington, the company has acquired 24 unique brands and properties in Nevada, Colorado and Washington.

Regional president at Maverick Gaming, Steve Sirianni, added: “We are excited to launch the first Maverick Casino and Hotel in the country. Our goal at Maverick has always been to upgrade the experience for our loyal guests.

“With this debut we also wanted to honour our community, team members and the rich past that the Red Lion Hotel and Casino had in Elko.”

This conversion of the Red Lion Hotel and Casino Elko to Maverick Casino and Hotel is a major step forward in improving the look and feel, quality of service and amenities and overall guests experience in Elko, Nevada.
