BetMGM inks NJ Transit deal for Meadowlands rail naming rights

BetMGM has secured a three-year sponsorship agreement with New Jersey Transit in what is a first of its kind agreement for the state-owned public transportation system.

This will see a rebranding exercise introduce the BetMGM Meadowlands Rail Line, with NJT heaping praise of the additional revenue to be gained as a result of the deal.

“The Murphy Administration is committed to keeping fares stable for NJ Transit customers,” said Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti, New Jersey Department of Transportation Commissioner and NJ Transit Board Chair.

“Partnering with BetMGM is a step towards that commitment by identifying new revenue streams that help keep fares affordable.”

Furthermore, NJ Transit through its advertising partner Intersection, has also entered into what is billed as “a comprehensive, multi-year advertising program” alongside the online sports betting and igaming platform.

This will include print and digital advertising throughout the system, as well as renaming the Meadowlands Rail Line, which operates between Secaucus Junction and the Meadowlands Station adjacent to MetLife Stadium for select events.

“BetMGM is thrilled to announce this groundbreaking partnership with NJ Transit,” commented Matt Prevost, BetMGM Chief Revenue Officer.

“The creation of the BetMGM Meadowlands Rail Line generates unparalleled exposure to our leading igaming brand, through station signage and rider volume – particularly on our favourite day of the week: gameday.

“New Jersey is our home and first market, and we see today’s announcement as an extension of our strong relationship with the state.”
