As the hustle and bustle of G2E begins to die down, kick off your weekend by taking a look at some of the industry’s latest slot releases. This week’s round up of new titles includes a Halloween horror show from BGaming, Wizard Games’ icy cold escapades and a prehistoric party from Play’n GO.
Monster Hunt – BGaming
Roam through a haunted graveyard as a sheriff aims to take out ghouls, vampires and zombies in BGaming’s latest slot release. This title showcases a 5×3 board with 25-paylines and a maximum win of up to x1,299 the player’s bet. The game uses medium-low volatility with an RTP of 94.65 per cent.
Aliaksej Baliukonis, Game Design Team Lead at BGaming, commented: “This October, we are proud to release our second Halloween slot of the year, following the hugely popular Bone Bonanza with Monster Hunt. In this slot, we incorporate imaginative characters, special features and a recognisable narrative to guarantee a thoroughly fun player experience.”
Gold coin symbols can appear, displaying monetary values from x1 to x20 the player’s stake. Landing six or more coins on the same spin will activate the horror respin game mode.
When six or more gold coins appear on the same spin, players are taken to an empty reel set where the triggering coins stay sticky in their place. Three spins are awarded as players hope to land as many coin symbols on the reels as possible.
While each coin that drops into play resets the number of spins to three, players are paid the accumulated value of all coins on the reel set once the three spins have been played out.
Furthermore, landing full horizontal lines of gold coins will award jackpot prizes, with one line awarding the mini (x20) jackpot, two lines awarding the mega (x100) jackpot and a full reel of coins providing the mega jackpot prize of x1,000.
Bonus gravestone scatters are also available, but only on reels one, three and five. Landing three gravestones on the same spin will activate eight free spins, while landing a further three in the free spins will retrigger the feature with another eight turns.
For the free spins feature, only high value monster symbols can drop into play, increasing the win potential of the bonus game mode.
Additionally, wild sheriffs can drop into play, substituting for all symbols other than the gravestone scatters and gold coins. Landing three, four or five wild symbols in a winning combination will provide respective wins of x1, x10 or x20 the chosen bet.
Mammoth Mayhem – Wizard Games
Wizard Games has transported players back to the Ice Age with its latest freezing-cold game release, presenting a five-reel slot with a 3-3-3-5-5 row set-up, offering 972-ways to win and a maximum win of x1,839 the player’s bet. This slot has medium volatility with an RTP range of 88.03-96.25 per cent.
Benedict McDonagh, Managing Director at Wizard Games, stated: “We’re excited to transport players to a frozen wonderland with Mammoth Mayhem, our fantastic new slot with features and prizes that are true to its name – mammoth.
“The frozen treasures trek is innovative and thrilling, providing multiple chances to land rewards such as the action-packed super free spins round. We look forward to seeing what players think about this one.”
Throughout the base game, symbols in the first three reels can appear with icy backgrounds.
If all nine symbols in these initial reels appear as frozen, the giant respin feature will occur, awarding one free respin in which the first three reels merge to form one giant 3×3-size symbol.
In the free spins game mode, triggered by volcano scatters, the reels will change to 5×3 with the last two reels, reels four and five, merging for 1×2 size symbols to appear across the three rows.
Moreover, lava symbol embellishments can appear on standard symbols throughout both game modes. These lava symbols will be collected on a meter beside the reel set.
Once the meter becomes full, a frozen treasures trek map will appear and the player will take a board game-style next step. Each step the player takes will award either a cash prize or a super free spins game mode.
The cash prize can range from x3 to x20 the player’s stake while the super free spins game mode offers four different game modes depending on the position the player advances to on the treasure map.
The super free spins game modes each use a 6-6-3-3-3 layout and are as follows:
- Sapphire cave super free spins: Awards 10 spins with reels one and two merged, while the fifth reel shows identical symbols to the merged reels
- Ruby cave super free spins: Awards 10 spins with reels one and two merged, while the fourth and fifth reels show identical symbols to the merged reels
- Emerald cave: Awards 10 spins with reels one and two merged, while the third and fifth reels show identical symbols to the merged reels
- Diamond cave: Awards 10 spins with reels one and two merged, while the third and fourth reels show identical symbols to the merged reels
Raging Rex 3 – Play’n GO
The Queen of the dinosaurs has returned as Play’n GO released the third instalment of its Raging Rex series. This prehistoric slot uses a 6×4 reel board with 4,096-ways and a maximum win of up to x30,000.
Magnus Wallentin, Games Ambassador at Play’n GO, explained: “We’re very much looking forward to seeing what players think about Raging Rex 3. Adding to this already popular series, Raging Rex 3 brings everything that players loved about the previous titles, while also adding some new thrilling features for players to sink their teeth into.
“For example, the hatchling mania bonus feature actually sees the Rex take a backseat as her brood practises their own hunting skills. Acting as individual moving wilds, smaller versions of their mother, these baby Rexes move from reel to reel creating the chance for more wins. They can even bring along a multiplier, too.”
When Rex wilds appear, a free respin feature occurs in which Rex stays sticky on the board and move one reel to the left for a number of free spins. These free respins occur until Rex travels to the first reel and eventually off of the screen.
Any hatchling wilds that appear during these free respins will also stay sticky on the board, moving to reels that are either in front of or behind the moving Rex wild.
Landing three or more scatters on the same spin will award the choice of one out of three bonus game modes: feeding frenzy, hatchling mania or survival.
With the feeding frenzy game mode, landing three, four, five or six scatters will award seven, nine, 11 or 13 free spins respectively. Rex wilds appear on every spin for this feature, moving to different reels after each spin.
One dinosaur symbol is chosen to be the hunting target for this feature, and every time the Rex wild moves over or stops on one of these chosen symbols a multiplier on the Rex wild will increase by a value of one.
For the hatchling mania game mode, landing three, four, five or six scatters will award seven, nine, 11 or 13 free spins respectively. During these spins, hatchling wilds are sticky and move in any direction on each spin, bringing x2 or x3 win multipliers with them.
Both of these features can be retriggered, with two, three, four or five scatters awarding an additional two, three, four or five free spins respectively.
Lastly, in the survival game mode, players are given three spins on a new reel set where only dinosaur symbols can drop into play on 12 spaces that surround a giant T-Rex in the centre of the board.
Players are given three lives with each spin taking one away, although any dinosaur symbols that drop into play will reset the number of lives to three.
The dinosaur symbols that land will be eaten by the T-Rex before leaving behind bone symbols. As they’re eaten, a multiplied bet amount prize will be collected by the T-Rex, which awards its full value once the three lives run out.
Each dinosaur that is eaten will also add to a bone meter above the reel set, which, when full, will cause all bone symbols to be removed from the board to make way for new dinosaur symbols. This will also upgrade the prize values offered by the dinosaur symbols.
To start with, the bone meter takes six bones to become filled, but every level after that will increase the bone meter by a value of one.
Fish ‘n’ Nudge – Push Gaming
If you’re a fan of fishing slot titles, then this Push Gaming release will be the one for you. Sending players out on a fishing boat, the studio’s latest release is a 5×4 reel slot with 20-paylines and a maximum win of up to x10,000 the player’s bet. The game has medium volatility with an RTP range of 94.38-96.4 per cent.
Craig Turner, Senior Game Producer at Push Gaming, stated: “Fish ‘n’ Nudge is a versatile slot that offers players multiple ways to win in the base game, with net symbols adding a transformative element to the already exciting gameplay.
“The ability for the free spins round to spin infinitely, as long as there are nets on the reels, simultaneously increases the multiplier and provides more opportunities to win resulting in an escalation of excitement for players. We are thrilled to see what wins people catch, in this classically themed and mechanically inventive title.”
Four fish symbols can appear with monetary values that range from x0.5 to x1,000 the player’s stake. These fish prizes will be paid out if they land within a framed net cell.
Fisherman wilds can also appear, substituting for all symbols other than the fishing boat scatters. These fisherman wilds also collect fish values across the reels whenever they land in a framed net cell.
Throughout the game, stacks of four net frames can drop on the reel set to border up to four cells in one reel. These enhanced cells will instantly award any fish prizes that appear in their nets, while activating the wild fisherman collect feature when wilds drop into them.
After appearing on the reel set, net frame stacks will nudge down one position on every subsequent spin until they disappear from the board.
With the free spins game mode, an unlimited number of spins are provided. Net frames are guaranteed to appear on the first spin on reels two and four, nudging downwards as they do in the base game on subsequent spins.
The free spins feature will continue until no net cells remain on the board, with nets able to appear elsewhere on the board as the game mode progresses.
Depending on how many scatters landed to activate the feature, a multiplier will be active at the start of the free spins that increases by a value of one with every net nudge that occurs.
Landing three, four or five scatters to trigger the game mode will cause the feature to start with multipliers of x1, x10 or x25 respectively. These progressive multipliers will be applied to any wins that occur in the free spins.
Christmas Dinner Wars – Arcadem & Chipmonkz
Slot streaming group Chipmonkz has collaborated with igaming supplier Arcadem to prepare for the upcoming holiday season with a Christmas-themed slot. This title showcases a 5×3 reel grid with 10-paylines to offer a maximum win of up to x6,033 the player’s wager. The game is highly volatile with an RTP of 95.06 per cent.
Low value symbols are represented by elements that make up a Christmas dinner, with sprouts, parsnips, roast potatoes, turkey and Christmas puddings. Meanwhile, an overly dysfunctional family make up the high value symbols, with phone-obsessed Sarah, drunken Uncle Pete, dead Grandma and fighting family members Karen and Ken on offer.
Spilt gravy jug scatters can also drop into play on reels one, three and five, triggering 10 free spins if three land on the same spin.
Additionally, dog wild symbols are available, substituting for all symbols other than the gravy jug scatters.
When three scatters drop into play to trigger the free spins feature, players are given ten free spins, and will also be able to select which low or high value symbol they want to be enhanced for those spins.
The selected enhanced symbols will be able to expand across the reels they appear in throughout the bonus game mode, paying out independently from paylines as long as a minimum of three expanded reels appear across the grid.
Furthermore, players can also select an ‘enhanced spins’ option in the base game, which increases the player’s stake by x10 – without impacting paytable prizes – in order for the expanded symbols feature to occur for a selected symbol in the base game.
