Slot of the Week
Blood & Shadow 2 – Nolimit City
SlotBeats celebrated Halloween by handing Nolimit City a spooky Slot of the Week title for its latest release Blood & Shadow 2, a sequel that sees players collect blood points to secure sticky wild symbols and free spins.
Per Lindheimer, Head of Product at Nolimit City, commented: “Shadow girl has come a long way over this past year, so much so we had to bring her back into the light! We’ve taken what players know and love from Blood & Shadow and added some new features that we think players will enjoy. The addition of xSplit in the base game and that bottom locked row, really gets the blood pumping.”
With players hoping to see blood-splattered symbols land in between the game’s paytable symbols, Blood & Shadow 2 presents a 5×4 reel grid with between 1,024 and 3,125 ways to win, offering a maximum win of x16,161 the player’s bet. The title has high volatility and a 96.09% RTP.

“We’ve taken what players know and love from Blood & Shadow and added some new features that we think players will enjoy. The addition of xSplit in the base game and that bottom locked row, really gets the blood pumping.”
This game uses cascading wins, meaning that symbols in a winning combination will disappear after providing their payout to make way for new symbols to drop in from above the reels.
Free spins scatters appear as guts in between the symbols that appear on the grid, allowing them to not take up space on the reel set. These scatters are attributed to the game’s progressive blood points meter.
Five sketched emblems depict the low value symbols, while crows, snakes, rams, wolves and a shadow girl character depict the medium value symbols.
Evil-eyed variants of the medium value symbols represent the enhanced high value symbols for this title, offering between x0.5 and x5 the player’s bet. These high value symbols can only appear on the reels as a result of the following bonus features.
Wild wolf skulls are included, substituting for all symbols in the game. Two forms of enhanced wilds are also available, with xSplit wilds splitting symbols either in their row or in their reel into two, causing them to payout prizes with x2 multipliers for their individual symbol. These multipliers can stack up if the same symbol is split more than once.
As wins are formed in this game, a blood meter is active underneath the reel set. Landing medium and high value symbols in a winning combination will apply one and two blood points respectively to this meter, while scatter symbols will apply 10 blood points to the meter.
Filling this meter with 20 blood points after a single spin will activate the first bonus feature of the game mode, with five features available in total as the player collects further blood points to continue filling the meter.
However, high value variants of the medium value symbols can only be unlocked one-by-one as each blood point feature is activated. Each time a high value symbol is unlocked, its low value counterpart, the sketch symbol that matches its creature, will be removed from play.
When each feature is unlocked, a guaranteed wild symbol will be unlocked below the reel set. This wild symbol will become active for the next candle spin, while expanding the reels by one symbol for the duration of the candle spins feature.

12 Coins Grand Platinum Edition – Wazdan
Wazdan’s coin-collecting slot series has gained another edition as the studio presented platinum wins in its latest slot, 12 Coins Grand Platinum Edition. The 4×3 reel slot has no-paylines as all wins are provided in the bonus game mode, offering a maximum win of x2,500 the player’s wager.
This slot release has variable volatility, with players able to select between low, medium and high, alongside an RTP of 96.15%.
Andrzej Hyla, Chief Commercial Officer at Wazdan, stated: “We are thrilled to launch 12 Coins Grand Platinum Edition, an extraordinary evolution in our Coins series that combines familiar fan-favourite mechanics with new innovations.
“The addition of the cash out mechanic and the heightened grand jackpot showcases our dedication to crafting engaging experiences and delivering games that not only entertain but drive results.”
There are no standard symbols in the Coins series, as prizes are won during the hold the jackpot bonus game mode.
This bonus feature is activated by landing any four silver or bonus coins in a highlighted section that sits on the third row of all four reels.
Silver coins appear throughout both the base and bonus game modes, presenting prize values between x1 and x10 the player’s stake.
Special cash infinity coins can also drop on the reels, displaying monetary values between x5 and x15 the player’s bet. These symbols stay sticky on the reels until the bonus game mode has been activated and completed.
While the Coins series usually only provides wins in the bonus game mode, this instalment sees players able to claim wins in the base game as special ‘cash out’ symbols can appear on the reels.
These symbols will present counter values from one to 15, which decreases by one with every spin. Once the counter reaches zero, all coins and other monetary prizes that are present on the reels will be awarded to the player.
Mystery symbols are also available, which are able to transform into silver coins or jackpot coins of mini (x10), minor (x20) or major (x50). Jackpot mystery symbols can also appear, which are only able to transform into the aforementioned jackpot prizes.
These symbols will only perform their features in the hold the jackpot feature, which they can help to activate if they land in the highlighted central reels.
With the bonus game mode, three spins are initially awarded to the player, with each new bonus symbol landing on the reels, resetting the number of spins to three.
All symbols that drop onto the reels during this game mode stay sticky for the entirety of the hold the jackpot spins.
Treasure chest symbols are also available, collecting all values from other prizes on the reels and attributing them to their own value. It will then apply a random multiplier between x1 and x20 to its value.
Once all spins have been completed, players will receive the accumulated prize value of all symbols that have appeared throughout the feature. If players manage to fill the board with 12 symbols, they will win the game’s grand jackpot prize of x2,500 their bet.
Forgotten – BGaming
BGaming tapped into the love for spooky slots on Halloween week by inviting players to an abandoned haunted house in Forgotten. The 5×3 reel slot offers 10-paylines and a maximum win worth x7,500 the player’s wager, while being highly volatile with a 96.89% RTP.
Yulia Aliakseyeva, Co-CPO for BGaming, stated: “Forgotten embodies the chilling suspense of Halloween, blending haunting visuals and intriguing mechanics with a ghostly story that invites players to confront their fears in the attic of an abandoned house.
“With its unique features and eerie aesthetics, this slot promises an unforgettable adventure.”
Notebook symbols can land on the reels, acting as wilds and scatters. Landing three, four or five notebook symbols anywhere on the reels will award 10 free spins with instant payouts worth x0.2, x2 or x20 the player’s bet, respectively.
These wilds will also substitute for all symbols in the game to increase the win potential.
Before each free spin, a random paytable symbol will be chosen to be enhanced for one turn. These chosen symbols can expand to cover entire reels when any potential wins can be formed.
Once the symbols have expanded, they can also payout prizes independently from paylines, as long as at least three reels have been covered by the chosen symbol.
