CoinPoker has announced its biggest online tournament festival to date after releasing the schedule for the Battle of Malta Online Series, which runs from July 12 through August 3. Over 23 days, players will compete for a share of $30 million in guaranteed prize money, making it the largest series ever hosted on the cryptocurrency-focused poker platform.
The announcement comes just weeks after CoinPoker wrapped up its World Poker Masters festival, which paid out more than $48 million and set a new record for the site.
$2.5 Million Main Event Headlines the Series
The main draw of the series is a $565 buy-in event with a $2.5 million guarantee. Day 1 flights will run throughout the series, with surviving players returning for Day 2 on August 3.
CoinPoker is also offering lower-stakes alternatives for players looking to take part without committing to the flagship buy-in. The $55 Main Challenger features a $500,000 guarantee, while the $11 Main Crusader will play for $100,000.
All three events also offer players a chance to win packages to the live Battle of Malta Autumn Edition later this year.
100 Battle of Malta Autumn Edition Packages To Be Awarded
The online series will award a total of 100 packages to the Battle of Malta Autumn Edition in-person event. Each package is worth $2,500 and consists of a travel budget and a €600 Main Event ticket.
Most of them will be distributed through the Champion’s Trials promotion, where players earn points through participation and progress through a knockout-style qualification system.
The remaining packages will be tied to the Main Events. Players who finish as Day 1 chip leaders in the $565 Main Event will secure packages outright, while leaders in the Challenger and Crusader events will advance to special freerolls where additional packages are on the line.
Popular Events Set to Return
Several tournaments that proved popular during the World Poker Masters have returned to the schedule for this series.
The $215 CoinMillion, one of CoinPoker’s best-known weekly events, opens the series with a $1 million guarantee. It begins on July 12, with the final stage taking place the following day.
Another standout is the $1,500 CoinMasters BITCOIN, which also comes with a seven-figure guarantee and is expected to attract many of the site’s regular high-stakes players.
Trophies and Live Event Rewards Add Incentive
The series also includes 77 trophy events. In addition to cash prizes, winners will walk away with a physical Battle of Malta trophy and a digital award that will be added to their CoinPoker Trophy Cabinet.
Players who attend the Battle of Malta Autumn Edition in person will be able to collect their trophies during CoinPoker’s trophy ceremony. Those unable to travel won’t be left empty-handed, with trophies shipped directly to winners around the world.
Series Builds Toward a $10M Final Weekend
The guarantees are spread across more than three weeks of action, but the biggest concentration of prize money arrives at the end of the festival.
According to CoinPoker, the final weekend alone accounts for $10 million in guaranteed prize pools, creating a high-stakes finish to what is already one of the largest online poker series of the summer.
For players who qualify through the online festival, the journey continues at the Battle of Malta Autumn Edition, scheduled to run from October 27 to November 4.
