Best Bet on Favorite to Win Scottish Open

Rory McIlroy (+920)

Elite drivers who can also putt well fare well in this tournament, and Rory McIlroy is certainly among that group.

McIlroy finished T-2 last year, T-4 in 2024, and won the event in 2023. McIlroy nipped local favorite Robert MacIntyre by one shot in windy conditions to lift the trophy.

After winning The Masters for a second time in April, he’s now gunning for his elusive second win in the Open Championship. After winning his first in 2014, he’s cracked the top five again on four occasions.

We’re not wild about single-digit odds (9.2-1), but it’s to be expected given his stellar course history here.

Best Bet on Sleeper to Win Scottish Open

Robert MacIntyre (+3600)

Speaking of MacIntyre, we had a nice ticket on “Bob” to win here in 2023. That one stung, for sure. To his credit, MacIntyre came back the next year and finished the deal with his first Scottish Open win.

We were also on him at last year’s US Open, and MacIntyre responded with a gutty effort that left him runner-up to J.J. Spaun. Given his comfort and ability in playing links golf in windy and rainy conditions, the native of Oban, Scotland, is on our card again this week.

Best Bet on Longshot to Win Scottish Open

Tom Kim (+8400)

Tom Kim is a horse for the course at the Renaissance Club, having never finished outside the top 20.

2025T1766-70-67-71-6
2024T1569-66-69-64-12
2023T666-65-67-73-9
2022368-71-69-67-5

Kim’s form is trending in the right direction, too. He was highly impressive, finishing third in the US Open a few weeks back.

Kim was in the mix for wins here in both 2022 and 2023. If he gets hot with the flat stick, that could well be the case this time around, too.
