College football rolls on tonight as Middle Tennessee takes on Delaware in a battle between Conference USA (CUSA) teams. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

Football fans and bettors have been spoiled with at least one college or pro game taking place in an ongoing span of 49 consecutive days. That stretch will continue until Wednesday, November 26, with a one-day breather before Thanksgiving games kick off.

Middle Tennessee (1-5 SU, 2-4 ATS) is struggling as the Blue Raiders journey to Delaware (3-3 SU, 2-3-1 ATS) after losing their last three games. The odds reflect that, as Delaware is a 9.5-point favorite with a total of 54.5 at DraftKings, which is seeing solid two-way action on the spread. The Blue Raiders, securing nearly double-digit numbers, have taken 52% of tickets at DraftKings.

Best Bet for Middle Tennessee vs. Delaware: Against the Spread

Delaware -9.5 (-108 at DraftKings)

Delaware has performed reasonably well in its first year of FBS competition. The Blue Hens have quality wins over UConn and FIU, but they’ll try to snap a two-game losing skid after falling short against Western Kentucky and Jacksonville State.

Blue Hens QB Nick Minicucci has thrown for more than 1,800 yards and nine touchdowns with three picks. He’s a dual threat with seven rushing touchdowns on the season. Delaware RB Jo Silver, who averages 5.5 yards per carry, leads the team with 375 yards on the ground and four total TDs. Kyre Duplessis (28-430-2) leads a receiving corps that features five players with at least 15 catches.

Expect Minicucci to find success through the air. Middle Tennessee ranks 129th nationally in yards per pass attempt against. The Blue Raiders have allowed 14 passing TDs versus just three interceptions.

Offensively, Middle Tennessee QB Nicholas Vattiato has thrown for 1,392 passing yards and completed 61.1% of his passes. His TD/INT ratio of 8-4 is less than stellar. He’s also been sacked 15 times.

Jekail Middlebrook is the team’s bell cow RB, with 433 rushing yards and a pair of TD runs. WR Nahzae Cox (28-353-4) is Vattiato’s primary target in the passing attack.

Middle Tennessee averages just 17.6 points per game, ranking the Blue Raiders 116th (out of 136 FBS teams) nationally. Meanwhile, the defense allows 28.6 points and 379.7 yards per game.

This should be a get-right game for Delaware after losing to two of CUSA’s better teams. Lay the wood.

Best Player Prop Bet for Delaware

Nick Minicucci Anytime TD Scorer (-120)

As mentioned, Minicucci has found the end zone with his legs on seven occasions already this season. That’s Josh Allen-type production at the quarterback position.

We thought this prop would have more juice, but at -120 it is worth playing. He scored three TDs in Delaware’s signature win over UConn, which finished at 44-41 after overtime. He also had a hat trick against Western Kentucky, a CUSA powerhouse program in recent years.

Best Same-Game Parlay for Middle Tennessee vs. Delaware

DraftKings is offering +525 odds on this SGP:

  • Nick Minicucci Anytime TD Scorer
  • Jo Silver Anytime TD Scorer
  • Kyre Duplessis Anytime TD Scorer

We expect Delaware to roll in this game, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see its three primary ball handlers find the end zone. That said, these SGPs are high-margin products for the sportsbooks at best, and sucker bets at worst. Play them sparingly and keep your bets on the smaller side. At +525 odds, for example, you only have a 16% implied probability of winning this bet.
