Best Bet on Favorite to Win Texas Children’s Houston Open
Chris Gotterup (+2500)
Memorial Park is a bomber’s paradise, and Chris Gotterup fits the profile of a winner here.
Gotterup ranks sixth on the tour in driving distance at 319.1 yards. His longest drive of 367 yards came at the WM Phoenix Open, which he won back in February.
Gotterup also won the Sony Open in his 2026 season debut. He’s comfortable with the pressure of being in the mix and could strike again on Sunday.
Best Bet on Sleeper to Win Texas Children’s Houston Open
Michael Thorbjornsen +3900
Michael Thorbjornsen is trending towards his first PGA Tour victory. He battled Gotterup down the stretch in the WM Phoenix Open, only to come up one shot shy of winning.
Thorbjornsen also joined Ludvig Aberg in the final pairing of The Players Championship, but had a disastrous 5-Over round that left him T-22.
As a bomber who can also putt, he could get that maiden tour victory in Houston.
Best Bet on Longshot to Win Texas Children’s Houston Open
Tony Finau +6600
Tony Finau won the 2023 Houston Open and returned to finish runner-up the following year.
Finau is coming off a solid T-18 showing at the Valspar Championship last week. His form has returned, but he occasionally struggles with accuracy off the tee.
That won’t be a problem at Memorial Park, which offers little trouble off the tee and the least amount of bunkers on tour.
