Best Bet on Favorite to Win PGA Championship
Cameron Young (+1600)
Cameron Young is enjoying his finest season on the PGA Tour. Young came through for us at the Cadillac Championship, which he won at +1275 odds.
Young has six top-10s in his last seven events, and hasn’t finished outside the top 25 during that span. He landed the biggest victory of his career at The Players Championship in March. Yesterday, Young finished T-10 in the Truist Championship in Charlotte.
Stellar tour rankings underpin Young’s unrivaled recent form:
- SG: Total (2nd)
- Scrambling: (2nd)
- SG: Tee-to-Green (6th)
- SG: Off-the-Tee (6th)
At +1600, you’re getting solid value for the tour’s hottest player.
Best Bet on Sleeper to Win PGA Championship
J.J. Spaun (+9400)
You’re getting legitimate longshot odds on our sleeper pick this week. J.J. Spaun proved his major championship mettle by winning last year’s U.S. Open. Spaun’s backers enjoyed a big payday after he went off at +15000 (or 150-1) odds
Spaun had a slow start to the season, but he is hitting his stride at the right time as the majors heat up. He grabbed a win at the Valero Texas Open in early April.
Spaun is coming off a T-5 finish in last week’s Truist Championship after finishing T-14 in the Cadillac Championship, both of which are signature events.
These odds are just too long.
Best Bet on Longshot to Win PGA Championship
Alex Fitzpatrick (+155)
Here’s another player whose recent form is off-the-charts good. Alex Fitzpatrick has proved he belongs on the PGA Tour with his more heralded brother, Matt.
The duo won the Zurich Classic two weeks ago, giving Alex his first PGA Tour win. Not long before that, Alex won his first-ever DP World Tour title at the Indian Open.
How about his last two starts? Alex took home a ninth-place finish in last week’s Cadillac Championship at Doral, then finished fourth yesterday in the Truist Championship at Quail Hollow Course in Charlotte.
Alex carried a one-stroke lead into the final round, but couldn’t close the deal due to problems with his putter. Still, his near-win on a major-caliber course puts him in good standing heading into this week’s PGA Championship.
