Before the considerable glass doors of London’s ExCeL centre even started officially welcoming the first of around 30,000 visitors to this year’s ICE Totally Gaming, gaming technology giant NetEnt and pioneering operator Mr Green were sharing some exciting news at an exclusive briefing.
Down the years, those attending these kinds of briefings at events like ICE can be forgiven for being underwhelmed but the Live Beyond Live launch is without doubt an eye-catching moment in the development of live casino.
Hosted jointly by Per Eriksson, president and CEO of NetEnt, and Jesper Kärrbrink, Mr Green CEO, the breakfast briefing introduced a dedicated rendered live casino product of many layers and details.
Live Beyond Live takes Mr Green players to a virtual casino, a penthouse in Los Angeles, to find a multi-table environment with live dealers and a choice of different tables to join. Roulette and blackjack are the games currently available to play on the platform.
The main technological advance with Live Beyond Live is the use of moving background assets in a deep-field virtual environment. Some of the other technological advances integrated into the product are multiple tables, additional angles, higher-quality blackjack tables, real time moment of excitement notifications from other tables and improved audio quality.
Speaking at ICE, Eriksson said the project had taken about a year to bring to fruition. “We had the technology,” he said, “but Mr Green came to us and we thought ‘Wow! We can really do something here.”
Mr Green chief Kärrbrink echoed the notion of a match made in heaven. “We had a plan – a vision – but we needed the right partner,” he said.
