According to government figures, the Chinese territory of Macau has reported that gambling revenue in the region has increased by 28% for the month of April.

The results, which were largely down to the increasing demand of Chinese punters flocking to China’s only legal casino, marked the 21st month of continued growth for the Macau gambling sector and saw the region once again outperform the predictions of many analysts.

The growth for the industry comes after it was hit with a setback in 2014, when many of the country’s big money players were tentative to take to the Macau tables. However, since 2016 growth and recovery has been a key feature in the country’s results.
