Slingshot Studios, a new independent game studio, is to develop exclusive gaming content for Isle of Man-based software giant Microgaming.
Slingshot Studios focuses on “enhancing successful slot-game staples and innovating with fresh new features”.
Cash of Kingdoms will be the first official release under the new Slingshot Studios brand, and will be released on Wednesday, 10 October. The action-packed slot includes a new feature in the form of Invading Wilds, which occurs in both the base game and free spins.
Cash of Kingdoms is a fantasy-themed online slot, which Microgaming teased on the third day of ICE Totally Gaming in London earlier this year. The Microgaming Bar was decked out with medieval accessories, including barrels for tables, archery targets and full sets of armour. In addition, there was a special routine by a skilled foot archer – in a Cash of Kingdoms-style costume – who took centre stage and stunned the audience with her daring performance, as the video above shows.
John Coleman, CEO of Microgaming, said: “Microgaming’s extensive digital portfolio will benefit from the unique personality and expertise of Slingshot Studios, who are developing original games with exciting engines and features, all targeted at specific markets and audiences.
“The content they have coming is fantastic, and their drive to create and challenge is incredible. Slingshot are the latest in a number of game studios to be announced as exclusive providers to Microgaming, and we look forward to unveiling more content from them in the coming months.”
Richard Vermaak, creative director at Slingshot Studios, added: “At Slingshot, our energy and imagination push us forward.
“We love building games that people love to play, and we can’t wait to share them with Microgaming for their operators’ players to enjoy. Cash of Kingdoms is the first taste of what’s to come.”
