Genting Casino Westcliff has begun a multi-million pound redevelopment project, as it strives to drive forward the property wide appeal of its Southend-on-Sea entity.

Focusing on upgrading the casino itself, as well adding an “exciting new bar area,” the various projects being undertaken are pencilled in to be finalised by Friday November 16.

The revamp of the bar area will include “a brand-new long bar with multiple state-of-the-art flat screen TVs throughout the bar,” including one 98 inch LED screen that will be “the biggest single screen in Southend”.

Set to show live sporting events throughout the year, including Premier League football and boxing events, the bar will have a gold theme and a long bar format.

This is done with the intention of increasing capacity and providing more service stations, reducing delays, whilst additional private booth areas are also being installed with mobile phone charging points.

The refurbishment will also see modernised toilet facilities, as well as new carpeting throughout the casino, whilst general maintenance to the exterior of the casino is also underway, including new signage and neon lights.

Simon Woodford, general manager at Genting Casino Westcliff, commented. “We are delighted to announce that the casino is undergoing a fantastic refurbishment. The new and improved bar area will revert back to a long bar, rather than the island bar we currently have at the moment, offering our customers a better in casino experience.

“The TV screens, booths and food menu will provide our customers with a place they can relax and socialise with friends.”

This follows news of Genting UK teaming up with International Game Technology, to launch its new gaming product.

Titled SpinSplosion, “the first of its kind in the UK” affords Genting players “one of the most interactive tournaments available”.

SpinSplosion is available at Genting Casino Manchester and Genting International Casino Birmingham, with the company “being the first casino operator in the country to offer their customers the chance to play”.
