Global Gaming and Videoslots have become the two latest online gambling operators to be awarded igaming licences in Sweden, the country’s gambling authority confirmed today.

The two operators become the 17th and 18th to be awarded licences ahead of the launch of Sweden’s re-regulated market on January 1.

Global Gaming’s subsidiary SafeEnt has been awarded a five-year casino for the Ninja Casino and SpelLandet brands, as well as a sportsbook licence.

Head of compliance Linda Kärrholt said: “We were one of the first operators to submit a licence application on August 1, 2018, the first available day, and are proud to announce that all the hard work put in by our team has paid off.”

“We are thankful for this seal of approval,” added CEO Joacim Möller. “It not only signals their approval of our business model but also gives us an opportunity to continue focusing on our largest market.”

Commenting on the Videoslots licence, CEO Alexander Stevendahl said: “We are delighted to be taking our unique casino offering to Swedish players and are grateful that the regulator has given us the opportunity.

“Videoslots was among the very first operators to apply for a licence as we always saw the potential in a fully regulated market. I am very pleased that all the hard work put in by the team has now been rewarded.”
