Malta-based gaming content provider Pragmatic Play has solidified its position within the Italian market, after entering into a distribution deal with operator with Scommesse Italia.

This is the latest expansion for Pragmatic, who also entered the live casino vertical earlier in the year after purchasing Extreme Live Gaming from the Novomatic Group.

Luigi Manda, director at Scommesse Italia, addressed the deal: “Pragmatic Play have a proven track record for consistently delivering quality content, and their portfolio is filled with immersive, engaging games.

“We are delighted to be taking their games on board, and look forward to a long and successful collaboration.”

Under the terms of the deal Pragmatic’s entire portfolio, encompassing in excess of 100 HTML5 video slots, is to be made available to customers of Scommesse Italia for the first time.

As a result, consumers are to now have access to a variety of popular products, including Wolf Gold, alongside recent releases such as Leprechaun Carol and Ancient Egypt Classic.

Melissa Summerfield, chief commercial officer at Pragmatic Play, stated: “We are thrilled to have signed a deal with Scommesse Italia, an operator whose vision for delivering innovation and rich gaming experiences matches our own.

“Italy is a key area of focus for Pragmatic Play as part of our strategy to expand into regulated markets, and we are pleased to have extended our reach.”

This follows hot on the heels of Pragmatic been granted a B2B supplier licence by the government of Gibraltar, meaning appropriately licensed operators can now integrate the organisations suite of games.

Summerfield stated at the time of the announcement: “Gibraltar is a renowned jurisdiction, and this licence represents a crucial step for us as we move ahead with our strategy to make our award-winning products available to regulated markets worldwide.

“We have already found great success in markets such as Italy, Portugal and Spain, and we definitely look forward to delivering our recognised portfolio of games to the major Gibraltar-based igaming operators.”
