Three more companies have been awarded a Swedish igaming licence by the country’s regulator, with Bethard Group, Evoke Gaming and Mr Green all licensed for online gambling and betting once the re-regulated market launches in Sweden on January 1.

The award, confirmed today by the Lotteriinspektionen, brings the total number of licensees to date to 26. The full current list can be viewed on the regulator website, here.

Following confirmation of the Swedish igaming licence, Bethard Group founder and CEO Erik Skarp said in a statement: ”We are of course very pleased with having our Swedish licence and to have received a green light for continuing growing in the Swedish market.

“Today I am celebrating together with our white-label clients, who now will get the same opportunity as us to carry out operations in Sweden.

“Sweden is, for many reasons, a very dear market to us and I am personally looking forward to show what we can do in terms of responsible gaming on our home market,” continued Skarp.

“Our goal is to become Europe’s leading betting company, not only in terms of innovation but also in terms of having the courage to take the right decisions in order to be a truly responsible gaming company”.

Based in Malta and Sweden, in 2018 Bethard has now secured three key licences – in the UK, Denmark and Sweden – with more expected to be gained during 2019. The gaming group is already progressing applications in both Ireland and Germany (Schleswig-Holstein).

Bethard has been granted a Swedish igaming licence for betting and online casino for the maximum period granted, which is five years.

This latest announcement follows those made since November 30, as Sweden gears up for the January launch.
