SBC sharpens gaming focus with CasinoBeats promotions

Stewart Darkin has been promoted to managing director of CasinoBeats, the casino media division of Sports Betting Community (SBC).

Darkin (pictured) joined SBC in January, 2018, as editor of the CasinoBeats.com gaming news portal, overseeing the brand’s content strategy and its first steps into events, specifically the CasinoBeats Summit in September and December’s inaugural CasinoBeats Awards.

A year after launch, Darkin takes on additional responsibility for CasinoBeats’ strategic direction, retaining oversight on content but also managing the growth of the Summit and a series of new ventures for the growing brand.

“It has been a landmark year for CasinoBeats,” he said, “not only as a new brand finding its place in a bustling sector, but also as a content source that keeps pace with an ever-changing industry.

“As we move into 2019, we can reflect on the foundations laid in our first year and, together, be very excited about the future. There is much work to be done but I am confident that we are establishing a reputation as a fast, open and reliable source.”

Rasmus Sojmark, founder and CEO of SBC, added: “Our aim has always been for CasinoBeats to become a leading voice in the gaming media – and one that simply cannot be ignored.

“A year into the project, we couldn’t be happier with the foundations we have put down. Now, as managing drector, Stewart has the additional platform to take CasinoBeats to the next level – and we’re all excited to see what we can achieve together.”

As part of the restructuring, journalist Craig Davies  (pictured, left) has also been promoted, to the role of news editor at CasinoBeats.com.

Davies joined SBC in September, 2017, and has been writing across the group titles sbcnews.co.uk, affiliateinsider.com, esportsinsider.com and Insidersport.com – as well as daily work on CasinoBeats.

Andrew McCarron, managing director of SBC, said: “Our aim is for CasinoBeats to become the sector’s ‘trusted advisor’ – not simply through the site content, daily newsletter and events, but because of its willingness to tell good stories and ability to facilitate meaningful debate and powerful networking.

“We believe Stewart and Craig are the right team to achieve this.”

The CasinoBeats Summit 2019 will take place alongside Betting on Sports at Olympia London on 17-20 September.

Four tracks of content and accompanying exhibition space with 40 exhibitors will host 75 speakers and attract 1,000 delegates to the heart of the world’s largest regulated online casino market. To find out more, visit www.casinobeatssummit.com
