PokerStars is daring people dream as part of new national advertising campaign set to be rolled out across Spain, as it presents the “rags to riches” story of Ramon Colillas.
The TV and digital marketing campaign documents Colillas’ journey from fitness trainer to global poker champion, after lighting up the poker world earlier in the year via his unlikely journey.
The new PokerStars ambassador went from winning a Platinum Pass for free entry to the $25,000 buy-in PokerStars Players No Limit Hold’em Championship, to winning the tournament and its $5.1 million prize.
Colillas fronts the new national campaign titles ‘Dare to Dream,’ which will be aired in his native Spain, highlighting the story of the 30-year-old’s “determination to compete among the elite players of the poker world and his life-changing win”.
Since winning the PSPC, Colillas has become a sponsored PokerStars ambassador, and is currently competing in the European Poker Tour stop at the Monte Carlo Casino.
Speaking of his journey, Colillas commented: “I hope to inspire others to follow their dreams and show that with hard work and determination, you can achieve your goals. It has been a crazy ride since I won the PSPC, but I’ve enjoyed every minute. It’s going to be strange to see my face on TV screens, but I’m excited.”
This isn’t the only strand of PokerStars new marketing strategy however, with a selection of fellow PSPC dreamers from around the world will set to take centre stage across multiple digital advertising platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat, over the course of the year.
The campaign is striving to continue to shine a light on how some skill and determination, as well as a pinch of luck, can lead to life-changing experiences .
Colillas won free entry into the tournament after he topped the Campeonato de España de Poker leaderboard, based upon his successful tournament play in a series of PokerStars-sponsored tournaments in Spain in 2018.
