International Game Technology has published its 12th annual sustainability report, as the company aims to drive value globally and increase its socially responsible corporate citizenship.
The sustainability pledge also embraces the guiding principles of the 2030 United Nations Agenda for Sustainable Development, with the 17 established goals calling for action by all countries to promote prosperity while protecting the planet.
IGT states that it’s actively focusing its corporate social responsibility initiatives on nine of the goals, that it believes it can influence at global and local levels through advanced sustainability practices.
“IGT actively focuses our corporate social responsibility strategy on nine of the United Nations’ sustainable development goals to continue strengthening our corporate leadership through advanced sustainability practices,” stated Marco Sala, IGT CEO.
“IGT’s 2018 sustainability report outlines achievements the company has made in the last year that positively impact the global communities that we serve through a wide range of customer interactions, community involvement, and employee engagement activities.”
Outlining its commitment in generating value for a range of stakeholder groups, IGT states that it’s “the only vendor with three distinct industry certifications for its commitment to responsible gaming”.
Economic growth has seen the firm expand to operate in over 100 countries, with a broad range of community involvement and employee engagement initiatives providing educational and economic opportunities for people in varying socio-economic environments around the globe.
Furthermore, IGT also emphasised a commitment to reducing its environmental impact around the worldwide in 2018 through targeted specific projects such as electricity and gas consumption, lighting, ventilation, and encouraging eco-friendly behaviours.
