Developer and content aggregator 1X2 Network is lauded a “breakthrough partnership” that is to see the company licence Big Time Gaming’s Megaways mechanic.

The random reel modifier system by BTG, which combined Megaways with the Scientific Games Corporation portfolio of games content earlier in the year, is to be utilised by 1X2’s Iron Dog Studio.

Kevin Reid, chief commercial officer of 1X2 Network, said of the new partnership: “Megaways has really taken the online slot market by storm, and we are really excited about combining the innovative mechanic with our own unique approach to slot development.

“Iron Dog Studio has already built a formidable reputation for designing and developing slots that deliver anticipation and thrills, and now they will also be able to deliver more ways to win than ever before – a highly successful combination, for sure.”

Under the terms of the deal Iron Dog Studio is to combine Megaways, a random reel modifier system that sees any given spin produce a different number of symbols across the reels, with its suite of slot titles.

The first Iron Dog Studio Megaways slot will be based around a pirate theme and is set to hit the market in Q4 2019, with a further collection of titles anticipated for the future.

Nik Robinson, CEO of Big Time Gaming, commented: “Megaways is a break-through system and it’s great to see so many suppliers wanting to licence the brand.

“We are really looking forward to seeing how Iron Dog use Megaways. They have an incredible team and I know they will add a new dimension to the format, which will excite slots fans around the world.”

BTG recently unveiled plans to heighten its game marketing techniques, after announcing a new alignment with First Look Games.

The marketing platform provides a direct link between game studios and affiliates to maximise exposure of their titles, with BTG to utilise the partnership to have up-to-date, accurate information and assets for their games with online casino affiliate sites and publishers.
