The Stars Group has deepened its footprint across the United States after entering into an agreement with Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians.

Relating to online betting and gaming market access in the state of Michigan, the agreement grants the group first skin market access to operate and brand real-money online betting, poker and casino in Michigan, subject to license availability, state law and regulatory approvals.

“We are excited to announce this agreement with the Odawa tribe, which further strengthens our market access as we work to continue to build our Fox Bet business into one of the leaders in the emerging US online betting and gaming market,” stated Robin Chhabra, chief executive officer of Fox Bet.

Furthermore, under the terms of the agreement Odawa will receive a revenue share from the operation of the applicable online offerings by The Stars Group.

The tribe operates two land-based establishments in the region, with its Odawa Casino in Petoskey joined by a similarly named property in Mackinaw in 2016.

Formerly Victories Casino, the Odawa’s Petoskey property, a $140m facility spanning nearly 300,000 square foot, contains a 50,000 square foot gaming floor that features approximately 1,000 slots, dozens of table games, a high limit room and a dedicated poker room and blackjack room.

This is complemented by the Odawa hotel, renovated in 2014, which contains 127 rooms, 900 seat Ovation Hall and around nearly 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

Opened in 2016, the Odawa’s location in Mackinaw City features a 6,106 square foot gaming floor that encapsulates 220 machines.

“The tribe’s partnership with The Stars Group extends beyond our reservation and places the thrill of world class sports betting and online gaming under every finger-tip sliding across a touch screen in the State of Michigan,” added Fred Harrington Jr, Tribal Council, LTBB Odawa.
