Buenos Aires city gambling regulator, the Loteria de la Ciudad (LOTBA), has approved the implementation of the technical project for the operation of online gaming presented by the Grupo Slots and Gaming Innovation Group.

As a result, both parties are to make preparations for the final certification of the online gaming platform in conjunction with Grupo Slots’ website, Jugadon.bet.ar.

Last year, the two linked-up for a minimum contract period of four years, with an automatic extension for one additional year, for the provision of GiG’s technical igaming platform, sportsbook, front-end development, data platform & GiG Logic.

Ben Clemes, Chief Commercial Officer at GiG, said: “The opportunity to implement our platform in the city of Buenos Aires, a fresh and dynamic market, is a challenge that marks a milestone for our companies.

“LOTBA is setting a great precedent for the strengthening of online gaming throughout the region and we are proud to be one of the early movers into the market.”

The San Luis headquartered group provides entertainment and leisure services in more than 20 locations across Argentina, where it operates casinos, gambling and bingo halls and lottery, as well as boasting its Jugadon online gaming site in addition to hotels, restaurants and convention centres.

Juan Ignacio Torres, Grupo Slots general manager, commented: “It gives us enormous satisfaction and motivation to be able to contribute our 35 years of experience and operational capacity to continue generating opportunities for our team of collaborators and to continue building the future of our company.

“We have put together an excellent team, combining the technology and strength of GiG’s platform with Grupo Slots’ deep knowledge of the local market. We congratulate and are deeply grateful and proud of those who made this possible.”
