BetConstruct’s VBet online casino and sports betting brand has secured licence approval to enter the Ukrainian market, a move which it lauds as ‘a great honour and privilege’.
The group’s move into the region was approved on May 31, 2021, when it received the green-light for online poker and online casino licences from the Ukrainian Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries. VBet says that the former sees it become “the first licensed online poker operator in Ukraine”.
“Our team sees great potential in the Ukrainian market, and is excited to provide fully legal and high-quality entertainment solutions to its clients,” noted Vigen Badalyan, BetConstruct CEO & founder.
“VBet is always keen to support responsible gambling, grow local sports, follow the highest business ethics standards, and fill the market with drive, creativity, and passion. ”
VBet says that its entrance into the regulated Ukrainian market is “an important strategic step” on the way to expanding its presence across a series of globally regulated markets. In Ukraine, VBet will operate under the VBet.ua domain name.
Seda Mkhitaryan, VBet head of licensing and certification, said: “It is a great honour and privilege to receive the approval of the Ukrainian Gambling and Lottery Commission for online casino and online poker.
“This is an important event for us, especially in these challenging times. It’s been a long, hard journey, but, for our team, even the sky’s not the limit.”
On July 14, 2020, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine legalised gambling, a move which was lauded as “a historical event” for a country where the activity had been prohibited for almost a decade.
