Finnplay enters the Netherlands alongside Janshen-Hahnraths Group

Finnplay Technologies has announced its entrance into the Dutch online gambling ecosystem, after teaming-up with the Janshen-Hahnraths Group.

The agreement has seen the Nordic igaming tech and services provider align with the company to take the land-based brand Fair Play Casino online, which has been done on the Finnplay platform.

Janshen-Hahnraths Group, which has already rolled-out an agreement with Evolution in the country, says that it has been planning for the opening of the Dutch online market for a number of years. The group operates 38 land-based Fair Play Casinos within the Netherlands.

Jaakko Soininen, Finnplay managing director, commented: “This is a very exciting opportunity for Finnplay, and a strong new partnership for the Dutch market.

“Between JH-Group’s experience as a successful operator in the Netherlands and Finnplay’s technical and compliance expertise in online gaming, this is sure to be a very successful venture.”

Earlier this month, the Dutch Gambling Authority, Ksa, confirmed the first ten entrants that were permitted to operate upon the long awaited opening of the country’s legalised online gambling market, which took place at midnight on Friday 1 October.

This saw Fair Play Casinos joined by the Toto Online brand of Nederlandse Loterij; Holland Casino; and NSUS Malta, which counts GGPoker as part of its stable; in gaining approvals.

Further entrants include Estonia’s Play North, operator of the Rocket Casino and Pikakasino brands, bingo operator Tombola, bet365; Belgian brand Bingoal; Italy’s Betent; and LiveScore Malta.

Björn Fuchs, chief digital officer from JH-Group, added: “We were very pleased to be one of only 10 companies awarded the Dutch B2C licence.

“We selected Finnplay because of their excellent track record supporting top tier operators in Europe’s regulated markets.

“We look forward to expanding the reach of our strong and well-recognized brand online to a bigger and broader audience of players”.
