Evolution has taken its stellar ‘Eilers-Fantini Online Game Performance Report‘ showing into the new year, with the online gaming firm continuing to excel in the maiden offering of 2022.
The company’s Bonanza has maintained its place at the summit of the slots game rank charts, as well as knocking IGT’s Blackjack title off top spot in the overall table.
Rounding off the top three in those latter rankings across US jurisdiction’s for January SG Digital’s 88 Fortunes, which also continues to occupy second place in the slots rankings.
Notable performers in the overall list are a trio of High 5 Games entrants, with Golden Knight II rising from 657th to seventh, Amulet and the Charm Power Bet up from 191st to 17th, and Triple Hoot reaching 25th from 213th. Inspired’s Roulette also climbed to 15th from 330th.
On a slots basis, Evolution rounded off the top three with Extra Chilli, with High 5’s aforementioned trifecta again the notable climbers into the top 25.

Rick Eckert, managing director of slot performance and analytics at Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, commented: “While Evolution’s Bonanza and SG Digital’s 88 Fortunes continue to lead slot rankings in the latest Eilers-Fantini Online Game Performance Report – January ’22, eight unique suppliers hold rankings in the top ten, showing great diversity in the two top-ranking online slots in the US market.
“The other six supplier-theme combinations represented in the top 10 online slots are: Reel Play-Hypernova Megaways, AGS-Capital Gains, High 5 Games-Golden Knight II, IGT-Cleopatra, and Everi-Cash Machine.”
The Eilers-Fantini report collects monthly game performance data directly from online operators to track how games perform in the region’s igaming ecosystem, with an ambition of growing the database similarly to that of its land-based game performance index.
This latest analysis examines data from 26 online casino sites, across Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and West Virginia, and has grown to track 25,079 games to represent 57 per cent of the market.
To little surprise, slots again dominate the digital footprint of North America’s igaming ecosystem, with the vertical accounting for 87.4 per cent of all unique games tracked, up from 87.1 per cent month-on-month.
This comes out ahead of table games’ 5.4 per cent (December: 5.7 per cent), as well as instant win’s 2.8 per cent, live casino’s at 1.8 per cent and video poker which comes in at 1.7 per cent. Virtual sports, lottery, and bingo/keno tracked 0.5 per cent, 0.3 per cent, and 0.1 per cent, respectively, which all remained consistent from one month earlier.
Evolution also forged ahead in the ‘Supplier Mix by Game Category’ rundown, after being found to account for 25 per cent of all games in the region, 86.9 per cent of which were slots, with this latest report adding NetEnt to the group’s umbrella brand.
This came out ahead of long-time leader SG Digital which slips to second in the charts, accounting for 21.6 per cent of games of which 89.3 per cent were slots.
Next up is IGT at 15.2 per cent, of which 84.1 per cent were discovered to be slots, with High 5 Games, Everi, and Ainsworth following-up with 7.2, per cent, 5.6 per cent, and 3.9 per cent, respectively, all of which were slots.
It was mobile that once again leads the devices with the highest percentage of theo win generated at 60 per cent, with virtual sports highlighted as the only segment where it doesn’t forge ahead.
Desktop tracks a theo win of 35.8 per cent with tablet lagging behind at 4.2 per cent, with video poker once more highlighted as a close battle between the two.
