With comings and goings commonplace across the industry, Esports Entertainment Group, Bally’s, and TrueLayer, all feature in our latest rundown of a number of recent manoeuvres.

Bally’s

Bally’s Corporation has appointed Bobby Lavan as Chief Financial Officer, replacing Steve Capp who is leaving to pursue other interests and opportunities. He will remain with the company until the end of April.

Lavan has served as Bally’s Senior Vice President, Finance & Investor Relations since May 2021, leading the acquisition, financing, and integration of Gamesys, as well as the internal and external reporting processes.

“Bobby’s track record leading successful M&A and integration initiatives will be invaluable in helping us grow the business and accomplish our long-term financial goals,” Lee Fenton, Bally’s CEO, commented.

“I am excited to work with Bobby on the Gamesys integration, streamlining our financial reporting, and executing our broader financial strategy to create further shareholder value.”

Gamomat

Dimitry Völkle has been named as Chief Partnership Officer & Managing Director of Gamomat, with the group asserting that it is “perfectly positioned to capitalise on the success of the past few years”.

In the role at the German online games developer, Völklewill focus on maintaining existing partnerships while developing and implementing the group’s growth and expansion strategy. 

Dietmar Hermjohannes, Founder of Gamomat, noted: “I am absolutely delighted that we were able to convince Dimitry to be our Chief Partnership Officer. 

“As an exceptionally well-connected market strategist with extensive industry experience, he will be invaluable in achieving our ambitious growth targets.”

Esports Entertainment Group

Esports Entertainment Group has named Damian Mathews as Chief Financial Officer, in a move that has been described as “pivotal and exciting” for the company.

Mathews, a member of the EEG board of directors and Chair of its Audit Committee, will replace current incumbent CFO Dan Marks on 2 April 2022.

Grant Johnson, EEG CEO, said: “Damian Mathews brings more than 25 years of global experience, working across banking, private equity and real estate.”

“Damian has been a valuable part of the company’s board since 2020 and we’re confident Damian’s expertise and leadership will make him a critical partner as we execute on our strategic and financial plan for this year and beyond.”

TrueLayer

TrueLayer has confirmed the appointment of former Amazon executive David Exposito to the newly created role of VP of EU Sales, as the open banking platform accelerate its expansion across the continent. 

In the position, he will gain the responsibility for managing commercial operations and development, including the company’s European country managers.

“Payments are undergoing a fundamental shift, driven by changing consumer expectations, merchant demand and technologies that can deliver a better experience,” remarked Exposito
