FanDuel

FanDuel has lauded a “huge moment for the industry” as the online gaming group confirms its intention to expand into the Canadian province of Ontario next month.

The group, whose launch is subject to successful Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario registration and execution of an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario, has vowed to deliver “new, interactive, and immersive” engagement strategies for fans and sports leagues.

Last week, the AGCO confirmed FanDuel as one of 16 operators that will debut digital platforms when the igaming market debuts on Monday 4 April.

Those also named were Annexio (LottoGo.com), BetMGM, Coolbet, Fitzdares, bet365, LeoVegas, WSOP.com, Ontario Lottery and Gaming, PointsBet, Rivalry, Royal Panda, Rush Street Interactive (BetRivers Ontario), theScore, Unibet and 888.

Subsequently, this will see FanDuel take its International Game Technology powered sports betting offering, as well as its player account management system and igaming offering, to the region.

The latter, delivered via a partnership with GAN, will see FanDuel Casino launch with over 250 titles in live dealer and slot games.

Payment processing partner Nuvei will provide payment options, while the group has also teamed-up with Napier, an AML solutions provider, in a bid to ensure full financial crime compliance and safer gaming.

“We’re so thrilled to open our Canadian office and bring FanDuel’s world-class sportsbook and casino to Canada’s passionate sports fans,” said FanDuel Group CEO Amy Howe

“This is a huge moment for the industry and we look forward to providing Canadians with entertaining and responsible sports experiences.”
