Design Works Gaming has maintained its much detailed US online casino momentum through September, with the Arizona headquartered supplier making waves across both old and new classifications. 

DWG retained top spot in the overall game rankings segment, with the latest Eilers-Fantini Online Game Performance Report detailing that Flippin Rich LuckyTap coming out ahead of Light & Wonder and International Game Technology

The latter’s 88 Fortunes, which also led the way in the slots break down, overtook IGT’s Blackjack to take second overall.

Top Game Ranks – Overall

Previously unranked games that tracked this month include DWG’s Test Your Strength LuckyTap and IGT’s Megajackpots Wolf Run, both of which indexed in the top 15. 

When looking at slots ‘top game ranks, DWG’s 10x Fortune and Bonanza by Evolution’s Big Time Gaming come in at second and third, respectively.

This also sees six unique suppliers represented in the top 10 which it is noted shows “continued variety in the segment,” with Reel Play and AGS joining those previously mentioned.

DWG’s successes don’t end there, with Molten Hot 7s and 10x Fortune occupying the top two spots of overall new game and slot ranks. These came ahead of IGT’s Megajackpots Wolf Run.

On an overall basis, new games from IGT and L&W, Megajackpots Wolf Run and Dancing Drums Prosperity, both entered the rankings in the top 10. 

New Top Game Ranks – Overall

“Today we published the Eilers-Fantini Online Game Performance Report – September ’22,” commented Rick Eckert, managing director of slot performance and analytics at Eilers & Krejcik Gaming.

“Design Works Gaming continues to produce top performing Instant Win titles with Flippin Rich LuckyTap leading the segment again this month. Slots were continued to be led by 88 Fortunes from Light & Wonder with Evolution Bonanza remaining in the top three. 

“IGT continued their dominance in table games and video poker while also ranking a new theme in the slot segment top 10 with Megajackpots Wolf Run.”

Adding: “When segmenting to only slots that have been released to online casinos in the past 180 days, 11 of the 17 Suppliers of content have a theo win index greater than 1.0x (site average). 

“These 11 suppliers have collectively released 116 unique slots over this time span representing a high hit rate with new releases.”  

When examining the performance of supplier’s it is Evolution that continues to lead on total games percentage after accounting for 23.4, of which 87.2 were slots, as well as taking 28.2 per cent to total gross gaming revenue.

On a GGR basis IGT falls next in line with 21.8 per cent, however, the group again sits in third in the ‘supplier mix by game category’ classification with a 15 per cent overall percentage, with 83.6 per cent slots.

Light & Wonder, which occupied 20.8 per cent of the igaming space with 90.2 per cent of its titles being slots, took 18.1 per cent of GGR.

Supplier summary – gross gaming revenue

Slots retained its dominant position when looking at the total games tracked with a total percentage of 90.5 (August: 90.4), ahead of table games’ 4.7 per cent (August: 4.9 per cent), as each of live casino, video poker and instant win staying consistent month-on-month with 1.9 per cent, 1.6 per cent and 0.7 per cent, respectively.

Lottery increased a single percentage point to finish at 0.3, with bingo/keno and virtual sports remaining at August’s percentage of 0.2 and 0.1.

Mobile maintains its frontrunning status with the highest percentage of theo win generated at 64.5 per cent leading the way in slots, table games, live casino, lottery, instant win, virtual sports and bingo/keno.

Desktop is reported as producing a theo win of 33 per cent and forges ahead in the video poker. Tablet lags behind with a theo win of 2.5 per cent and comes out on top in lottery.

The Eilers-Fantini report collects monthly game performance data directly from online operators to track how games perform in the region’s igaming ecosystem, with an ambition of growing the database similarly to that of its land-based game performance index.

This latest analysis examines data from Michigan, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Connecticut across 29 online casino sites, tracking 35,432 games to represent 58.5 per cent of the market in terms of gross gaming revenue.
