LeoVegas has strengthened its sporting ties after becoming a principal partner and front of shirt sponsor of English League One side Blackpool FC.
The sponsorship agreement, which has not been received well by fans on social media, will see the online casino and sports betting operator become featured on all 2023/24 first-team adult shirts, which celebrates the 100th year of playing in tangerine.
Furthermore, LeoVegas’ brand will also become featured across in-stadia assets, which will include pitch-side LED screens and static boards at Blackpool’s Bloomfield Road home.
“We are thrilled to welcome LeoVegas Group on board as a new principal partner ahead of the upcoming season,” commented Jonty Castle, Blackpool Football Club’s Chief Operating Officer.
“To be associated with LeoVegas – a globally recognised brand – on the front of all first-team and replica adult shirts is an exciting opportunity for the Club, and provides the potential for greater international exposure.“
This latest alliance maintains an ongoing effort of aiming to reach local and global audiences via partnerships with “prominent football clubs”.
Blackpool becomes the latest in a string of football-based partnerships inked by LeoVegas, with the group teaming-up with Champions League finalists Inter Milan and treble winners Manchester City during the past year to increase visibility and brand awareness.
Sam Behar, LeoVegas Director of UK and Sponsorship, commented: “We are delighted to announce this sponsorship with ‘The Seasiders’ for the upcoming season.
“Partnering with a club like Blackpool that has such a long-standing history in the game presents a fantastic opportunity for LeoVegas Group to promote the greatest igaming experience across the United Kingdom.
“The club and the group share common values and a desire to grow, and we can’t wait for the season to get underway.”
