Sennette Lam, Director of Talent and Co-Founder of TalentBet, has stated that one of the biggest challenges for igaming companies when it comes to recruitment is “finding the right talent” for the roles they are trying to fill.

TalentBet is an igaming and fintech recruitment specialist which was established in February 2023. With an office in Malta, the agency has seven experienced igaming and fintech recruiters across different nationalities with different networks.

Lam has 10 years of experience in igaming recruitment, and during that time, she has been able to find out what works and what doesn’t, implementing those discoveries into her work with TalentBet.

Speaking at SBC Summit Barcelona, Lam highlighted that “finding the right talent” for specific roles can be one of the hurdles many igaming companies have to overcome in terms of recruitment.

“With a lot of companies at the moment, it’s finding the right talent. There’s so many companies out there, and there’s not so many experienced candidates in specific areas.

“We find that a lot of companies request certain roles, like an MLRO. Now that is not a role that a company would have multiple people, so there are only a certain amount of people out there that would be good [for that role].

“Sometimes they need our help to expand their search to make sure that they get the right candidates.”

TalentBet’s slogan – ‘We’re the Experts!’ – is one which they stand by because of their “tailored and specialised” recruiters exclusively in the fields of igaming and fintech, whereas other recruitment agencies may have several recruiters covering different business industries.

Looking ahead, due to growth occurring at a much quicker pace than previously anticipated, Lam noted that the agency is now keeping its eye on other markets over the next year where it could be of service, such as the US.

“The plan for next year will be to just continue to grow, maybe move into new markets, have specialised recruiters in different markets.

“I know there’s a lot of interest in the US at the moment, so maybe we will have a team that will focus on US recruitment, and really just continue to develop and grow there.”
