SkyCity Entertainment has appointed Jason Walbridge as its next Chief Executive Officer, who brings more than two decades of gaming experience to the company.

Subject to the usual regulatory approvals, current interim CEO Callum Mallett will continue in his position until Walbridge steps into the role, which he is expected to do in early July following his move back to New Zealand.

SkyCity Board Chair, Julian Cook, commented: “The board is delighted to announce Jason’s appointment as CEO of SkyCity, and we are looking forward to the valuable contribution Jason will make to the business.

“Jason has extensive global experience in the land-based and online gaming industries, which will position him well to lead SkyCity through its next phases.”

Walbridge’s experience within the gaming industry includes NYX Gaming Group, Light & Wonder and Aristocrat Gaming, where he held executive leadership positions and is currently a Strategic Advisor for its proposed acquisition of NeoGames. He is also the Executive Chair of National Entertainment Network.

Commenting on Mallet and his time as interim CEO, Cook added: “I’d like to thank Callum for his continued leadership and his support during this period.”
