Making a Case for Betting on the Milwaukee Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers provide some added value at +755. While the Dodgers lead MLB with a record of 69-40, the Brewers check in at second, 67-41. With the trade deadline looming on Monday, keep an eye on any moves made by Milwaukee.

The biggest potential trade target is Detroit pitcher Tarik Skubal, who’s been mentioned in possible trades involving multiple teams, including Milwaukee. Skubal is the two-time defending Cy Young winner in the American League.

Skubal was forced to have elbow surgery on his throwing arm in May, but is now back and fully healthy. His numbers are pedestrian when compared to his usual production. Skubal is 7-5 with a 2.79 ERA and 116 strikeouts (tied for 30th in MLB).

Only Garrett Crochet (255) threw more strikeouts than Skubal (241) last season. In the previous season, Skubal led all pitchers with 228 Ks. With Milwaukee trying to get over its playoff hump, Skubal could be the difference-maker.

Jacob Misiorowski, Milwaukee’s current ace, is making a case to win the Cy Young Award in the National League this season. Misiorowski has struck out 185 batters this season, 17 more than any other pitcher. His 1.58 ERA is also the league’s best, and Misiorowski is tied for seventh with a record of 11-4.

One interesting stat: The Brewers rank fifth in the league in runs produced (546) despite ranking last in home runs (98). That’s an incredibly efficient offense, but again, it’s coming in the regular season. Milwaukee led the league with 97 wins last season, only to be swept by Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. In the two previous seasons, the Brewers exited after losing in the opening round.

Since the All-Star Break, no team has been bet more than the Brewers to win the World Series at BetMGM. Milwaukee commanded 18.6% of the overall cash in that market as of Tuesday. As of publication, BetMGM offered the Brewers at +900 to win the World Series. Be sure to compare the odds at sportsbooks and prediction markets.

Is it finally time for a breakthrough? At odds of up to +900, we’re willing to find out.
