Notre Dame is Kalshi’s betting favorite to win the 2027 College Football National Championship.
As of publication, the Fighting Irish are a +733 favorite with an implied probability of 13%. Head coach Marcus Freeman‘s team was snubbed, failing to be selected for the College Football Playoff last season.

Top Contenders to Win 2027 NCAA Football Championship
Notre Dame (+669)
Sophomore CJ Carr is back to lead Notre Dame’s offense after throwing for 2,741 yards and 24 touchdowns as a freshman.
Carr has his top target back in Jordan Faison, who led the Irish with 49 catches and 640 receiving yards last year. Notre Dame also poached two talented wide receivers — Quincy Porter and Mylan Graham — from Ohio State.
Expect Notre Dame to lean more heavily on the aerial attack after the departure of running backs Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price. Carr will also benefit from operating behind a solid offensive line featuring stud tackles Will Black and Guerby Lambert.
Defensively, the Irish added a pair of defensive tackles through the portal. Francis Brewu (Pitt) and Tionne Gray (Oregon) will bolster a defense that allowed only 17.6 points per game last season. That ranked No. 11 in the nation.
Ohio State (+733)
The Buckeyes were unseated by Indiana in the Big 10 last year, but they have the weapons to win a second natty in three years under head coach Ryan Day.
Sophomore QB Julian Sayin was a Heisman Trophy finalist last year as a freshman. He’ll have a great shot to win the trophy this time around with the return of star WR Jeremiah Smith, who led the Buckeyes in catches (87), receiving yards (1,243), and TDs (12) last season.
The running game features Bo Jackson, who eclipsed 1,000 yards last season behind a stout offensive line that might be even better this year.
Defensive coordinator Matt Patricia is tasked with replacing Sonny Styles, Caleb Downs, and Arvell Reese after all three players were selected in the first 11 picks of the 2026 NFL Draft. Alabama transfer James Smith will bolster the D-line, and Duke’s Terry Moore should do likewise at free safety.
Ohio State’s early showdown with Texas on Sept. 12 will reveal where the Buckeyes are on defense heading into the new season.

Despite making last year’s College Football Playoff under head coach Steve Sarkisian, Texas underwhelmed a bit offensively with Arch Manning at quarterback.
Manning returns for his junior season after finishing last year with a flourish. After early struggles, he tossed 11 TDs and just one pick during his last five games. Manning added four TDs on the ground during that productive span.
The Longhorns added some big-time offensive players through the portal.

New defensive coordinator Will Muschamp comes over from Georgia, where he produced some of the nation’s best defenses in recent years.
Muschamp inherits a wealth of talent, including DE Colin Simmons, who led the SEC with 12 sacks last season. Safety Jelani McDonald also returns after leading the Longhorns with 80 tackles and three interceptions.
