PrizePicks has partnered with Mindway AI in a collaboration that will enable the company to spot at-risk behavior more quickly and promote responsible play on its daily fantasy sports platform.

In an October 1 press release announcing the new deal, PrizePicks explained that it plans to integrate Mindway’s behavioral monitoring technology directly into its platform to enhance “the company’s ability to detect and respond to potential problem gaming behaviors across the player lifecycle.”

PrizePicks plans to use Mindway’s GameScanner tool to identify shifts in player activity, such as increased session frequency or rapid spending, which may signal problematic behavior. With the insights gained from these tools, PrizePicks will be able to trigger early interventions, including personalized reminders, nudges, and access to budgeting tools, aimed at maintaining sustainable play.

Phil Sherwood, Senior Director of Responsible Gaming at PrizePicks, said the move represents a new phase in the company’s approach to player protection: “Partnering with Mindway marks a meaningful evolution in how we support player protection. By enhancing our ability to analyze behavioral data, we’re able to deliver more tailored interventions and promote responsible play tools with greater precision—helping ensure a safer, more sustainable experience for all of our players.”

Expanding Player Protection Through AI

Besides behavior monitoring, PrizePicks expects its partnership with Mindway AI to enhance its support of services like Kindbridge Behavioral Health, as well as safer gaming features such as timeouts and self-exclusion.

Another benefit of the partnership is that customer support staff will have better visibility into player activity, which should help them identify potential risks more quickly.

Mindway AI CEO Rasmus Kjaergaard said the collaboration reflects a broader market shift: “Partnering with PrizePicks signifies a hugely positive step for player protection not only in the daily fantasy sports realm but in the North American market as a whole.”

Responsible Gaming in Focus Across Operators

PrizePicks isn’t the first operator to turn to AI tools to strengthen responsible gaming measures. Last month, Underdog became the first US operator to adopt Sportradar’s Bettor Sense tool for real-time risk detection. At the same time, Crown Resorts recently announced it would deploy Mindway’s GameScanner on its casino floors in Australia.

In its announcement, PrizePicks highlighted its responsible gaming efforts, pointing out that: “In 2025, PrizePicks was awarded iCAP accreditation by the NCPG for its responsible gaming practices and efforts, becoming the first and only fantasy sports operator to earn the certification.”

AI tools like GameScanner do more than minimize player harm; the industry may also be looking to these tools to support the long-term sustainability of gaming platforms because they can help platforms manage risk, protect their reputation, and encourage healthier user engagement.
