Grand Casino Baden

Switzerland’s Grand Casino Baden is continuing its preparations for the country’s new online casino market, after entering into an agreement alongside Evolution Gaming for the provision on live casino services.

Set to be available via its jackpots.ch portal for Switzerland’s incoming regulated market, the new online gambling laws are set to come into force next week (Monday 1 July) and is set to essentially block foreign-based organisation from the region.

Aiming to force the country’s online participants to use domestic sites, the new law is intending to help combat gambling addiction with tax revenues said to set to help fund anti-addiction measures.

Grand Casino Baden, which is set to market itself as the ‘House of Entertainment,’ is to enable remote customers to utilise a range of titles from Evolution’s portfolio of content.

The games, available via smartphone, tablet and desktop, includes live dealer roulette, blackjack and baccarat, as well as numerous live dealer poker variants and also game show style games such as lightning roulette.

Marcel Tobler, chief financial officer at Grand Casino Baden, said of the agreement: “This was an easy decision for us. Evolution has an excellent record in helping its licensees to launch world-class live casino services into regulated markets globally.

“At Grand Casino Baden we pride ourselves on providing an unrivalled range of offers and service to our players. Harnessing Evolution’s live casino will undoubtedly help us to consolidate and develop our position as one of Europe’s most highly regarded casinos.”

Earlier this month Swiss regulator Eidgenössische Spielbankenkommission approved four online casino licence applications from the properties at Baden, Davos, Lucerne and Pfäffikon.

James Stern, chief business development officer of America and land-based at Evolution, added: “We are of course delighted to have been chosen by another of Switzerland’s top land-based casinos. The Evolution portfolio fits perfectly with Grand Casino Baden’s ‘House of Entertainment’ concept.

“We are very confident that our live games portfolio, including not only casino classics but also game show style games, will prove to be very popular indeed with the casino’s clientele and will also help to attract further new visitors to the land-based venue.”
