As September’s CasinoBeats Summit edges ever closer, we are taking a somewhat reflective mood and casting slight glances back to June’s Malta offering.
Hosted a briefing at The Palace Hotel in Sliema, in excess of 100 senior executives were welcomed for two panel discussions that focused on the search for innovation in the online casino sector.
A key sponsor for the event, and who will also be taking a role in September thanks to two moderating spots, were communications agency Square in the Air.
Robin Hutchison, Director at Square in the Air, said of the opportunity provided to enter to the sponsorship arena: “It’s the first time we’ve ever done it truthfully, we’ve been in the business for 12 years now doing PR and marketing for people and we’ve never sponsored anything. We’ve always helped people get sponsorships.
“So we’ve been used to dealing with people like CasinoBeats and SBC for a while now and we wanted to branch out, we’ve got lots of clients in Malta but we’d like some more, and it was a great opportunity to get our name here a little more.”

Hutchison is to be joined by fellow director James Bennett on moderating duties at the Olympia London on September 17-20, hosting panels titled ‘player focused game design’ and ‘creative approach – identifying and interacting with problem gamblers,’ respectively.
Regarding the Summit, which is to welcome 1,000 senior executives and see as many as 200 operators present, Hutchison added on its appeal: “I think it’s a mixture of things really, it’s a great venue, London is obviously good for people getting to from all over the world, as I say the content, the actual speaking and panels that are put on are genuinely interesting and genuinely informative.
“And I like the kind of democratised way that the event is put together, there’s no huge stands where people stand out and others are smaller, it’s quite a level playing field from that point of view as an event.
“And you’ve just got a lot of people there with interesting things to say and ultimately that’s how we take this industry forward.”
